Features of the regime of a newborn baby and a month old baby
Immediately after the birth of the child, young parents have many questions, including about the correct routine of the day. The proper organization of the conditions in which the baby will be in the first months of life will help him to adapt quickly and feel good. How much should the newborn sleep? Does he have a certain mode of sleep and wakefulness?
Sleep plays a special role in the life of a newborn child. While the baby is sleeping, a growth hormone is produced. It is he who is responsible for the development of tissues, organs and the whole organism, including the formation of the brain.
In a newborn baby, the dream is broken into small pieces and does not depend on the time of day. Night and day rest on duration are approximately equal – the crumb still does not distinguish day and night and has no concept about a mode.
In the first weeks of life (or in the period of the newborn) the child sleeps about 20 hours a day (the norm options from different sources – 16-23 hours). Duration of sleep is determined by feeding – most often the newly born baby wakes up just for this. By the end of the period of the newborn (that is, by the end of the first month of life), the duration of sleep is reduced to 16-19 hours. Individual differences can be significant, because even among adults there are lovers of sleep and those who need less time to recover.
According to the World Health Organization, the period of the newborn is 28 days. Care of the child and his feeding at this time are crucial in order to lay the foundations of a healthy life. An infant who is in the second month of life (that is, one month after birth) is called a month-old baby.
