Concussion in children: the first signs and symptoms
Concussion in children requires careful monitoring of the condition and behavior of the baby. In the thoracic period, signs of cerebral concussion resemble the symptoms of acute respiratory infections, intestinal colic, teething, that is, common manifestations of malaise. Child 2 – 4 years is not able to accurately formulate their feelings and complaints. Therefore, diagnosing this trauma at an early age is difficult. But the remote consequences of concussion in the form of neurological disorders and delays in development are very serious. Therefore, only the attention of parents can help in time to diagnose and save the child from unnecessary risks.
The phenomenon is the least severe form of closed craniocerebral trauma with mild brain damage at the cellular level, without significant disruption of the integrity of soft tissues, destruction of cranial bones.
At the same time, pronounced organic disorders in the tissues, changes in the brain substance are not detected, and disorders of the nervous system are reversible.
