Scientific research has proved that the formation of the functions of the cerebral cortex occurs after the birth of the child, as a result of his relationship with the environment. And the most important in the development of speech and skills is the two-year period of the baby’s life. According to statistical data, in 80% of cases, the pathology of hearing in children develops during this particular period. And the correct diagnosis of the condition of the hearing function for the child is of particular importance, since it allows us to identify the problem in time and start correcting it by rehabilitating the baby.
The laying of the auditory organ takes place on the 7th week of embryonic development and by the end of the 20th week is already fully formed. The formation of its functioning is gradual. A newly born child hears only very loud sounds, then, starting from the age of three months, he becomes able to perceive weaker sound stimuli, especially reacting to the voices of his parents. From the age of six months, if the baby hears well, then he turns his head to the source of sound and looks for it. Also at this age the child begins to be interested in music. When the baby turns nine months old, he becomes able to distinguish the voices of his loved ones, learn the household sounds and noises and react to them, begin to listen when they are addressed.
