Rhinitis in the infant and newborn baby: treatment, what to do to ease breathing, symptoms and prevention

Strong rhinitis in the baby: the most effective methods of treatment

Among all diseases on the planet, the common cold is the most common. And there is not a single person who never sniffed in his life. What, then, is there to talk about little children, because the runny nose is their indispensable companion throughout childhood.

By itself, rhinitis is harmless, but its complications can cause serious trouble for the body, including sinusitis, otitis and other diseases. A bacterial infection can also develop, due to which the ailment can be delayed. More details about the treatment of a common cold in the baby are discussed in this article.

The presence of a cold in newborn children is not always accompanied by the development of respiratory disease. At the age of up to 2 months, the mucous membrane of the nasopharynx is not yet fully capable of functioning, which leads to the release of mucus in large quantities.

This mucus is a physiological runny nose in a child. Of course, the main causes of the disease is a common cold, influenza or acute viral infection.

The development of infection in children up to 12 months can provoke a strong swelling of the mucosa, which adversely affects the baby’s breathing process.

In large megacities or even in tiny towns where industry flourishes and cars are full, air is polluted with various chemical irritants, because of which may develop an allergic reaction in the child in the form of an edema of the nasopharyngeal mucosa, sneezing or runny nose.

And can I wash babies with a cold? With regard to bathing, the situation here is slightly different. Infant can only be bathed under certain conditions. Otherwise, complications may occur.

Breastfeed can be bathed if:

  • infusions of medicinal herbs will be added to the bath;

  • at the end of the bathroom the body of the baby is immediately wrapped in a warm towel or blanket;

  • water should be warmer by several degrees than usual;

  • the baby does not suffer from high fever.

    Many doctors insist on the need for bathing, because during the course of the illness the baby sweats profusely and together with it the toxins of medical preparations and microbes leave the body.

    There is an opinion among the people that get rid of snot can be in a week, even if nothing is done for it. But the right approach and timely treatment will eliminate this ailment in 3-4 days.

    Otherwise, complications may occur, and an inoffensive disease will take on a chronic form. If the ailment is not very strong, then it can be cured independently, but you do not need to dig in breast milk to the baby in the spout.
