What is adenoids in a child, when and why they are removed
Adenoids are called hypertrophic pharyngeal tonsils. It is she who in childhood is inclined to sprawl. This is facilitated by the features of the structure of lymphoid tissue in the early stages of life, the location of the amygdala (at the intersection of the digestive tract and respiratory tract), and the imperfection of the defenses of the child’s body.
The pharyngeal tonsil is located on the upper arch of the nasopharynx and is a two-part divided longitudinal lump of lymphoid tissue. Being part of the so-called lymphoid ring (palatine, tubal, pharyngeal and lingual tonsils), it is designed to protect the body from the invasion of harmful microorganisms and viruses coming from the external environment.
Most specialists among the main factors affecting the pathological proliferation of tissues, called heredity, in particular, passed from generation to generation features of the structure of the nasopharynx. The disease is very rare in adults – in adolescence, when the immune system is fully adapted to the effects of external factors, the pharyngeal tonsil regresses in most cases, or at least stops its growth.
