Problems of tuberculosis in children
Tuberculosis is an infectious disease that is caused by a tubercle bacillus (Koch), affecting not only the lungs, but also many organs and systems. We are used to hearing about tuberculosis in adults, although manifestations in children are often more dangerous and have an irreversible outcome. Much has been heard about the Mantoux sample, but not all parents understand its necessity and purpose of implementation.
The development of this terrible disease in children is the same microorganism (rod of tuberculosis) as in adults. But the baby can get infected not only by contact with the sick airborne way, but also being in the womb of a mother suffering from tuberculosis. Disease bacilli are almost everywhere and very resistant to external influences. But this does not mean that everyone who breathed a wand will be sick with tuberculosis. Whether the child develops a disease or not depends not on the proximity of contact with the patient or the severity of his illness. The paramount factor is the state of health of the baby, which depends on nutrition (is it enough protein and vitamins?), Living conditions (cold rooms with high humidity increase the risk of bronchopulmonary diseases). Children who suffer from chronic diseases with frequent exacerbations have reduced immunity and increased susceptibility to pathogens.
