Therapeutic gymnastics (LFK) against scoliosis in children
Since the school day in most children there are signs of scoliosis of the initial stage, which at best remains unchanged throughout life, at worst – progresses to heavier forms (3 and 4). Treatment of scoliosis often means forcing the spine to align in such a way as stretching or wearing a corset. But many patients do not know that there is a third option: improving the connection between the brain and muscles through physical rehabilitation (therapy) of scoliosis.
Many types of scoliosis in children aged 10-15 years have idiopathic origin – this means that the specific cause of the onset and development of pathology to doctors is unknown. The curvature found in a child under 10 years old refers to early scoliosis.
According to Cobb, 4 degrees of scoliosis are distinguished, starting from the angle of curvature of the spine – up to 10, 11-25, 26-50, more than 50 degrees
Scoliosis, or lateral curvature of the spine – a fairly common problem that occurs in school-age children. Visually it looks like a skew in the line of the shoulders, shoulder blades or thighs – it’s the side above the other. The disease is often caused by a rapid jump in the growth of the skeleton at the age of 10-15 years, while the muscular corset of the spine – its support – does not keep up with the development of bones. All the troubles exacerbate the need for schoolchildren to wear heavy portfolios, spend quite a long time in a fixed posture at the desk during lessons, sometimes the child experiences excessive or excessive load on the spine during active games or occupations by professional sports.
