Illness of giardiasis in children is caused by the simplest parasitic organisms – lamblia, his symptoms are often nonspecific, and the treatment is quite difficult.
Once in the body, parasites colonize the small intestine, where block the mucosa and pump out most of the nutrients. This provokes disturbances in the process of digestion of food, and also creates problems with outflow of bile.
The parasite has 2 forms of its existence:
- Cysts – a stationary stage of lamblia, in which the parasite has extreme resistance to unfavorable factors. In this state, its viability is preserved up to 2 months and only after it enters the human body, this stage passes into the vegetative form.
