Follicular sore throat: a danger to the youngest
The child has a sudden fever, is he moody and refuses to eat? It is not excluded that I had to face inflammation of the tonsils. Follicular angina is one of the most common bacterial diseases in childhood. Without appropriate medication, it will not be possible to cope with the infection.
If a baby whose immune system is weakened for a number of reasons will have to face pathogens (staphylococci, streptococci, pneumococci), there is a high probability of developing a follicular sore throat. The inflammatory process on the tonsils begins swiftly. The child, who was still feeling well in the morning, may complain of a sore throat in the evening. The incubation period of infection lasts up to 7 days. This means that the deterioration of the child’s condition can be observed only a few days after the meeting with the pathogen.
Follicular angina is considered extremely dangerous for children up to a year. During this period, babies are the most weakened. The children who are on artificial feeding are more susceptible to the disease. During the lactation, the woman passes the baby antibodies to pathogens – if the mother is sick with angina, worry about getting the baby is not worth it.
The risk group includes:
- children with weakened immunity against a background of chronic diseases;
- kids with concomitant infectious diseases;
- children who are regularly exposed to hypothermia;
- patients with hypovitaminosis;
- babies in contact with an infected person.
