Conjunctivitis in children: a variety, symptomatology and danger of the disease
Conjunctivitis; it is an inflammatory process that affects the mucous membrane of the eye, which protects the sclera and inner eyelid from various injuries.
The disease is very common among children. The most common reason for her; this is inadequate hygiene, especially in children older than one year, who are already beginning to actively explore the world.

The disease develops under the influence of pathogenic microorganisms and most often proceeds in acute form. Symptoms are not very bright, however, it is easy to recognize them.
Depending on the nature of the cause that triggered the disease, it can be viral, bacterial and allergic.
Bacterial conjunctivitis can be caused streptococci, staphylococci, chlamydia and other microorganisms of bacterial origin. For example, a child after a walk did not wash his hands and touched their eyes, bringing the bacteria along with the mud on the mucous membranes.
Viral conjunctivitis is the result of the transfer of a cold, by the child himself or by someone close to him. The mechanism of occurrence in this case is usually simple: getting infected, the patient gets a complication in the form of an inflammatory conjunctiva on the background of the overall clinical picture.
The child should have individual items of hygiene and life (dishes, towels and so on). If he visits a kindergarten or school, then for the period of the disease it is necessary to isolate him from other children.
For the prevention of conjunctivitis in young children in kindergarten, not sick children also need isolation from the sick, because viral conjunctivitis is very contagious.
