Ambrobene for children is an effective medicine against coughing
Due to the gradual formation of protective functions of the body, children are more likely than adults to suffer from colds. Almost always the inflammation of the respiratory tract is accompanied by such an unpleasant symptom as a cough. In this case, the doctor can prescribe to a small patient the drug Ambrobene, which is available in several dosage forms (syrup, solution, etc.). This medication well dilutes sputum and removes it from the bronchi.
Ambrobene is a new generation of mucolytics, which stimulates sputum liquefaction and its expectoration. The active component of the drug – ambroxol hydrochloride – starts to work just a few minutes after taking the medicine and has the following effect:
- strengthens the motor activity of the cilia of the bronchial epithelium, thereby increasing their transport capacity and accelerating the withdrawal of sputum from the bronchi;
- activates the release of enzymes that break down the bonds between the components that make up the sputum;
- stimulates the formation of a surfactant – a complex of surface-active substances that prevent the adhesion of the walls of the pulmonary alveoli during breathing;
- increases the concentration of antibiotics in bronchial mucus and sputum (with complex treatment).
The drug is absorbed from the gastrointestinal tract. The withdrawal of the drug is carried out by the kidneys (about 90%).
On the pharmaceutical market Ambrobene is represented by several medicinal forms, each of which has age limitations and contraindications to admission. That is why the question of prescribing the drug should be decided solely by the pediatrician.
