Turns from back to side; on the stomach; from belly to back
Independent upheavals from the back to the abdomen and from the abdomen to the back are truly a revolutionary event in the life of the baby. On his back he is able to see only my mother’s face and a couple of toys over her head or side. When that time comes and the child starts to turn over well on the tummy (and this happens about 4-5 months) , he opens a whole universe, consisting of extremely entertaining subjects and phenomena.
After three months, the baby is already quite good at mastering such skills as:
- Turns the head on an unusual or favorite sound (for example, on a melody of a mobile phone or other toy), when lies on the stomach;
- begins to gradually raise and fix the head and shoulders in a position on the abdomen with the support of the hands;
- movements are becoming more and more coordinated: the child is curious to feel his face, grab his nose.
During this period, the baby can hit mom, suddenly making a coup from the back to the stomach. It’s hard to call it a real coup, rather, it’s not a very successful attempt to slip to one side from the position on the back, into which the caring mother put the crumbs. But the beginning of active movements has already been laid, and now the baby will not be long on his back. True, children really start turning over, only when they have strong enough muscles of the neck, arms and back, which usually happens a little later (4-5 months).
Attention! After three months, when a child learns the skill of coups, you must always hold the child by hand, changing his diaper or turning away to take a tube of baby cream or a bottle of oil for massage. It is inadmissible to leave a crumb of one on the bed without the sides and, especially, on the changing table, since it is fraught with falls and injuries.
According to some moms, their child just at the age of 4-5 months very cheerfully began to turn from back to back, then on his tummy and abdomen on his back; in a word, to make coups in different directions, having had a few bruises before mother believed that the kid had really learned to turn over himself.
After 4 months when the child lies on the back, he lifts his head and looks with interest at his feet, can bend them in his lap, pulling to his chest and trying to reach them with his fingers. Then he periodically begins to turn the body from the back to the side.
