Let’s learn the child from a bottle
Just as mothers breastfeeding excommunicate toddlers, mothers of artificers are forced to wean babies from bottles. The habit of sucking a nipple and falling asleep with a bottle in the mouth of the artificial persons is very developed. Nevertheless, it is necessary to wean a child from a bottle at a certain moment, because the mixture does not satisfy the need of a grown-up kid in useful substances, and it is very important for him to learn to eat adult food and drink from a cup to fully eat. Forcing a baby to part with a bottle is not an easy process, and during this process, children are capricious and require their favorite accessory with tears, because sucking from a bottle not only quenches the hunger, but delivers pleasure to the child, soothes and lulls.
It is impossible to name a specific age when it is necessary to start weaning from a bottle. From the point of view of psychology and physiology, it can be said that there is a period of readiness for parting with this attribute of infancy, but for all children it comes at different times. Mums should only record the presence of signs of readiness from their child and decide on the situation.
- From the point of view of physiology, if the baby confidently sits, can hold a cup and a spoon – you can refuse from the bottle. Usually all these skills are formed by 10 months or the first birthday.
- From a psychological point of view, sucking is necessary for the baby as a way to calm down. If a child does not suck a breast – he sucks a pacifier and a bottle. To remove a bottle from everyday use in this sense is when the child learns more advanced ways of coping with anxiety and stress. Usually this happens to 1.5 – 2 years. This, of course, does not mean that until the age of 1.5 the child will receive food only through the bottle. To this age there are only night sucking.
