The opinion that the sense of humor is inherited is only partly true. The temperament, inherited by the child from nature, can really affect his attitude.
But the family and the inner circle also contribute. It is unlikely that a child who grew up among sullen and reserved people will have a healthy sense of humor.
So, the personal example of parents is contagious, whatever it may be, and it is in their power to teach a child to enjoy life, joke at himself and defuse the heated atmosphere with an apt word.
The sense of humor is manifested even in the smallest children, but what is ridiculous for a kid can be perplexing for a teenager: he will consider it an ordinary folly. So you need to choose a theme for fun correctly.
The babies, although they do not understand the jokes, but they perfectly feel the mood of those around them. In 1-2 months, the baby responds with a smile to the tender words and smile of the parents.
At 3-4 months, he is already laughing furiously, playing with mom or dad or bathing in the bath. When adults make funny sounds or make faces, the crumb also rejoices with them.
Closer to 9 months, the child can already understand that the mother is doing something unexpected: meowing like a cat, or putting a baby cap on her head. This seems funny to most babies. Another win-win is tickling.
But if you carefully watch the peanut, you can find out that he is amused by other things, such as the word “cuttlefish” or “flying” in the hands of the pope. Moreover, children’s joy is so contagious that adults play similar sketches again and again.
Joking and fooling around with the crumbs, parents develop his sense of humor and teach him to be positive about life.
Children aged 2–3 love “physical” humor, especially with elements of surprise. They find it funny when adults hide behind a door or behind a sofa and suddenly look out of their hiding places. Kids are having fun and games like “pussy, pussy, scamp under the bench”.
Mastering the speech, the children begin to feel the rhyme, which in itself seems to them funny. But soon the child begins to laugh “into the topic” – above the heard joke, funny song, funny episode from the cartoon.
He is not able to really explain what exactly gave him pleasure, but this does not prevent him from seeing all the absurdity or the comic of the situation.
The kid can laugh at an adult joke too, but so far only for the company, because he is still not able to comprehend its meaning. But he will try his best to find out what was funny in her and ask leading questions.
If possible, try to explain the crumbs, for what reason you just had fun.
The next step in development is conscious attempts to make parents laugh. The kid will “show the nose”, walk around the apartment in her mother’s shoes, ape and someone to portray.
Encourage such initiatives and laugh with the little playboy – this is very important. If a child notices that some of his actions caused laughter and approval, he will perform this number for you more than once.
Your task is not to get annoyed, but to calmly explain that the joke loses urgency from repeated repetition.
Sense of humor is also developed by funny stories and humorous poems, but first, funny moments will surely require your comment, and you should always ask the baby what he understands and what he does not.
To inspire the baby, have fun with the whole family and often joke yourself. The best way to develop a sense of humor in a child is to demonstrate his ability to make others laugh.
Take children’s humor seriously. Encourage trying to joke, even if they don’t seem very funny. Listen to the humorous experiences of the child, do not dismiss them boring “do not talk nonsense.”
