- plus to mix – a bottle of water (the best and safe option is a specialized nursery);
- measuring spoon;
- spatula or table knife;
- bottle sterilizer;
- a clean plate for accessories – the nipple, the rings of the bottles, the caps and the caps.
Children who eat mixtures cannot, like babies, eat on demand. They need a regimen, and the breaks between meals should be at least 3.5-4 hours, because the mixtures are digested and digested more difficult than breast milk.
Your main guideline – the indicators of development and age of the baby. The daily amount of food in the first 2 months of life should be 1/5 of its weight. For example, a child who weighs 3500 g will need 700 ml (3500: 5 = 700), and if he weighs 4000 g, 800 ml (4000: 5 = 800).
The norm of the mixture for a baby from 2 to 4 months is 1/6 of body weight, from 4 to 6 months – 1/7, after 6 months – 1 / 8–1 / 9.
Portion 1 feeding can be determined by dividing the daily amount of the mixture by the number of feedings. Sometimes a baby can eat less or more than usual.
Small deviations from the norm are allowed in either direction.
The liquid that the child drinks during the day is not included in the total amount of food. When the little one starts to try mashed potatoes, porridge or cottage cheese, these products will need to be taken into account when calculating the amount of feeding, and the amount of the mixture is reduced.
Babies who do not eat breast milk from time to time should be offered to drink. The extra fluid smoothes the load on the kidneys, it appears due to the fact that there is more protein and some mineral substances in the mixture than in breast milk. The fact is that the bioavailability of the beneficial elements of the mixture is lower, and that the baby is guaranteed to get everything they need, their level is increased.
The daily “standard” of liquid (baby water and tea or dogrose broth) is 80–100 ml.
Wash the teat, bottle, ring, cap and cap with a brush before sterilizing. Try to do with a minimum of detergent for children’s dishes.
Rinse all items thoroughly with cold running water.
You will need a special container that looks like a plastic salad bowl. Place the bottles and teats in it, add some water and put in the oven for 10 minutes.
Before you get the dishes, after turning off the stove, wait 5 minutes!
Place the bottle face down in the sterilizer, place the rest of the items in the basket on top, leaving free space between them to “work” the steam. Leave the bottle and the items attached to it in the sterilizer until the mixture is prepared, then take them out with clean hands and tweezers and place them on a platter.
This method is ideal for travelers. Fill the container with water, dissolve the tablet in it and lower the dishes into the resulting solution.
Cover the container with a lid and wait at least 30 minutes. The composition remains active 24 hours, so during the day you can drop new bottles into it.
Pour a little warm water into the bottle and only then pour the dry mixture into it. Remove the top of the “hill” with a spatula or tip of a clean, dry knife.
ATTENTION! If the water in the bottle is too hot, the mixture will curl up into lumps.
After adding the mixture to the water, wait, and then, without shaking (otherwise dry particles, once in the nipple, plug the hole), roll the bottle in your hands. Now, to food turned out homogeneous, shake the bottle, and then warm up.
Before you give it to your baby, make sure the mixture is warm: put a few drops on your wrist.
