For many parents, sports are still associated with health, they are convinced that the sooner their child starts to engage in them, the more beneficial it will affect his body. Alas, the current serious sport and even the first classes in the sports sections for children have nothing to do with health.
Rather the opposite.
Modern sport is rapidly getting younger. In serious sections of sports, rhythmic gymnastics, figure skating of a child, they will gladly accept it, as soon as he turns 4 years old. Yes, such kids still have little sense, but they are poorly aware of the danger of some difficult and, at times, dangerous elements, so they are easy to implement.
And still it’s easy for a trainer to bring up such crumbs “by themselves” and teach them to obey.
In the sports sections, the playing form of classes – and this is the only correct form of any training for children under 6 years old – is absent. This is not a kindergarten at all.
Rather, modern sports sections, with a claim to the results and the promotion of students to the heights of sports, can be compared with the Suvorov School. This is a strict discipline, designed to develop a sense of purpose, teamwork of actions, heavy – not for years, load. All of the above causes great harm to the health of the child, including, of course, his nervous system.
Depending on their character, some kids have a strict discipline that suppresses individuality, while others, on the contrary, lead leadership skills. In addition, a child who began to play sports early, as a rule, is no longer interested in anything else.
We can say that in sections there is a kind of zombing, where the guys have only one goal left – to achieve a result.
For children who spend their childhood in sections, there is scattered attention, constant fatigue, and constant muscle overloads impair the blood supply to the brain, since all the blood goes to the restoration of muscle tissue. As a result, these young athletes then find it difficult to switch to school, because of the poor blood supply to the brain, they learn worse than others. Contrary to the popular belief that in order for a child to stop being sick often, he should be given to the sport, classes in the sections provoke fatigue and regular colds.
And no wonder, the baby lives in a state of constant overload, and his immunity falls.
And how many children’s injuries occur in sports sections! How many girls-athletes slowed down the process of maturation and there are no periods!
And after all, it is for health that most of the parents give their children to the sport. Parents should understand that working in the same sports direction is narrow, primitive and, in most cases, unpromising. And not only in relation to a small number of medals being played, but, above all, in relation to health.
It is no secret that for many young athletes the career ends very early precisely because of injuries or even disability. And for this it is not necessary to break your back, you can just regularly fall on it.
For specialists, it is obvious that an early start to a career always shortens the lifespan of an athlete and makes his results not so progressive.
If the parents, in spite of everything, still decided to give the child to the sport, he needs a medical examination. If the circle where you give the child, is called the sports section, it is necessary to have a doctor’s examination there.
If your section does not offer this, just do not stay there.
In order to understand whether the child is fully prepared for sports loads, they must check his heart, pulmonary system, musculoskeletal system. If a baby has hidden heart problems that he may simply outlive with age, then, quite often, sport provokes them.
Up to early deaths due to abrupt cardiac arrest.
And not only because of health, but also to avoid disappointment in the future, you need to consult a doctor. For example, badminton.
From the point of view of the average person, sport is light, not serious and not at all traumatic. However, with undetected flatfoot, a young athlete will never achieve good results in this sport, no matter how hard he tries. The fact is that with flat feet, his ligaments and muscles of the foot do not work, the child is simply not able to jump fast enough and high, which is very important in badminton.
To avoid disappointments in the future, you can consult with your doctor and immediately eliminate certain sports.
Svetlana Zhurova, Olympic champion (speed skating), deputy of the State Duma of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation and mother of two sons: “Today it is customary to begin an early, too early specialization: in figure skating, in hockey. Coaches are smarter, those who know children’s physiology, devote a lot of time to OFP. But not all.
On the other hand, there are still parents who, for the most part, do not understand anything at all, and only see that they have given the child to hockey, and instead of driving the ice on the ice, he does some exercises in the hall . But this is the most correct way to sport.
I believe that in any sport the first year should be dedicated to OFP plus a soft entry into the sport, acquaintance with it. I think that coaches engaged in the early introduction of children into sports can argue with that. But abroad, when compared, they begin to engage in sports not as early as ours.
And the results are not worse. “
All asymmetric types: tennis, badminton, high jump, javelin throwing, etc. When doing these sports, one part of the body is underdeveloped at the expense of another. Although the coaches offer compensating exercises, this is not a matter of salvation.
Underdevelopment of one half of the body leads to scoliosis, impaired posture, early osteochondrosis and rapid trauma. And this, by the way, concerns not only children, but also adults too.
Rowing is harmful to the posture, provoking diseases of the back due to a strong overload of the spine, especially in the lumbar region. Despite the seemingly more or less healthy movements back and forth, there is an overabundance of upper body work and underdevelopment of the lower body.
The rower, a young athlete, is forced to sit all the time, which is extremely harmful for the back. In addition, there is stagnation and varicose veins of the pelvic organs.
Plus hypothermia in the cold period of time, since the rowing athletes swim in open water from early spring to late autumn.
A fight, such as Greco-Roman, when there is a contact between the floor and the head. With such movements, the cervical and thoracic spine is severely injured, which leads to deformation of the posture and the whole body.
Boxing, due to regular concussions.
Gymnastics, acrobatics, diving very traumatic sports and, due to numerous flips and somersaults, leading to growth inhibition.
Figure skating is unacceptable because of jumping on such a hard surface as ice. But quiet skating in the fresh air on the contrary, it is very useful, because like walking.
The main thing is to drop on hard and cold ice. But even with ordinary skating it is not necessary to hurry, it is ideal to put the kid on skates after 6 years old when the foot is formed.
Ballroom dancing, by the way, is also an asymmetric load – partners constantly make movements only in one particular direction, stretching one arm to one side. Scoliosis is formed.
Ballet – because of the many constant jumps, a strong shock load occurs, usually on one leg. The same applies to rhythmic gymnastics and everything that uses one-sided splits or high jumps.
All the exercises where there is one-sided work of the legs: splits on the right leg, a high jump through the right leg, they all lead to the formation of an incorrect scoliotic posture. Well, an athlete cannot be tall, achieving a result, but, thinking about health, jump first to the left, then to the right foot!
He will always jump only on some one, convenient.
All exercises are also detrimental to health, where barbell squats are necessary, which are widely practiced by coaches in athletics, practicing a quick, powerful start with children. This is prohibited movement for children.
Osteochondrosis, herniation of intervertebral discs, protrusions, shoulder-shoulder re-arthritis, bronchitis, myopia (reduced vision). To be guaranteed to earn these diseases, it is enough to work out one kind of serious sport for ten years.
To avoid problems, the best option is to practice a separate sport for no longer than two years.
Before recording your child in the sports section, parents should honestly answer the question: what do they want as a result for him – medals or health. Because – or one, whether another.
In addition to serious sport, there are many other physical activities in life – useful for the health of both children and adults. About them – in the next article.
