A great way to pain relief during childbirth is a massage or self-massage. It stimulates the nerve endings that are located in the skin and send impulses to the cerebral cortex.

Spreading faster than pain signals, they compete with the latter and reduce pain.

It is recommended during painful contractions with palms or fists to massage the lumbosacral region – knead or press dimples over the buttocks. You can also massage the skin in this area with intense circular movements.

But at the very beginning of the fight it is better to take a deep breath and exhale.

At the end of the first period of childbirth, when the head of the child goes down, there is a desire to push, but this is still impossible. To distract and overcome the urge to try, take a full breath and take a deep breath, and then breathe on the count – 3-4 short breaths, ending with a long breath through the lips stretched into the tube.

After a long exhalation, short exhalation breaths go again.

If everything goes according to plan, in the first stage of labor, you can take a warm bath or shower. Warm water reduces pain, relaxes muscles and helps to relax between contractions.

But the bath and shower can be taken only before the amniotic fluid is poured out, after it has happened, there is a risk of penetration of the infection.
