Typically, the foundation is used to hide flaws and even out the complexion. I use it in cases where it is necessary to make acne invisible. Moreover, according to the law of meanness, they appear to me, although rarely, but always at the most inopportune moment.
However, if you act thoughtlessly, you will not be able to get rid of the inflammatory process. After all, with the help of tonal means we only hide acne, but do not eliminate them. It seems to me that the approval of the Tonal Cream clogs the pores is no longer relevant, because the cosmetic industry over the past ten years has significantly advanced, and some of the tonal creams can now also perform an anti-inflammatory function.
In principle, any beautician (and makeup artist) will say that it is undesirable to gloss over acne. But after all, there are force majeure events: holidays, exams, an important interview, where I really do not feel like coming to the accident in the most prominent place.
First you need to clean the skin and apply a remedy, it is better that it was drying – then apply the foundation will be more convenient and easier. I usually use gel for washing, tonic for problematic skin, then face cream with a similar effect (Pure Line or Vichy Normaderm).
You need to wait until the cream is completely absorbed, otherwise the tonal tool will lie unevenly or roll.
10-15 years ago, the foundation was a coarse, pasty mass (which of you used Ballet, admit it?). Now, in addition to the masking function, it performs many others: protective, moisturizing and even anti-inflammatory.
If the last function is important to you, pay attention to the composition, it should contain salicylic acid, zinc, triclosan, etc. It is also important that the tool protects the skin from the sun, because the damaged areas are more susceptible to pigmentation.
Another option is the use of green corrective means. Based on the theory of colors green neutralizes red.
The price range of tonal creams for problem skin is wide – from budget (from Eveline Cosmetics manufacturers) to medium (from Oriflame and Avon) and more expensive (Vichy). Also check if there are versions of products for different types and skin tones, and make your choice according to your individual parameters.
Foam sponges are better not to use, or use disposable. First, often their purity leaves much to be desired, and secondly, with their help, you can spread the infection all over your face, which will increase the number of inflammations.
I usually apply foundation with my fingers. At the beginning I apply it dotted on problem areas with the help of clapping movements. Then I let it dry and either repeat the procedure again, or I apply the cream all over my face to even out its color. Naturally, hands should be clean.
Then I usually complete the procedure by applying powder. It is better to use a brush, so the layer will be thinner. Again, the brush needs regular washing.
Acne is not a reason to cancel a date and stay at home. However, in its desire to disguise inflammation, it is important not to overdo it, because an inaccurately stained pimple often looks even worse than it is without correction at all.
In applying the foundation color, a sense of proportion, quality and texture of the product and proper lighting are important.
I hope my advice will help you in dealing with problem skin.
And how do you mask acne?
