Fertilizer for aquarium

maintenance, care, compatibility

Recently, liquid fertilizers are becoming increasingly popular. Questions about their use are specific. Moreover, in most cases, the owners of aquariums ask: “Is it possible to use macro-, micronutrient fertilizers at the same time?”

The nature of this issue is completely understood.

Phosphate from a mixture of macronutrients can be the basis for the creation of insoluble compounds, which include the cations of a mixture of microelements. However, this possibility appears only if you mix liquid macro-micronutrients. If you initially make products in the aquarium, you can understand that the components will be very diluted.

Subsequently, the creation of insoluble compounds ceases to be possible. For this reason, to change the component fertilizers, one has to take care of the simultaneous use of macro- and micro-components.

It is believed that macronutrients are best consumed by greenery at night, so it is recommended to bring such components in the evening so that they can show the maximum benefit. This statement can be found on numerous forums lovers aquarium fish and plants.

However, the recommendation is doubtful: the absorption of nutrients occurs only with the receipt of light, because liquid micro-macro-fertilizers are best made early in the morning.

Formerly, fertilizer manufacturers recommended adding nutrients once a week. Most likely, these tips were based on a certain laziness of aquarists, because the manufacturers did not want to scare away the target audience. Despite this, the products of Ermolaev and other developers should be made regularly and evenly.

Daily use of fertilizers is capable of pleasing with worthy results that can never under any circumstances be achieved during the procedure once a week.

We will use the following fertilizer recipe for aquarium plants:

  • Fe – 2.67 g / l;
  • K – 4 g / l;
  • Mg – 1.1 g / l;
  • Mn – 0.3 g / l;

  • Boric acid – 0.3 g. Source of boron. You can buy in agro-shops, pharmacies and chemical stores.
  • Potassium sulfate – 8.6 g. It is possible to buy in agro-shops of chemical retailers.
  • Tsitovit– 4 ampoules. Complex fertilizer with micro and macro elements. You can buy in stores for gardeners.
  • Ferovit– 4 ampoules. Ferrous fertilizer. You can buy in agro shops.
  • Vitamin B12 – 2 ampoules. Biologically active substance, which is a source of cobalt. You can buy at the pharmacy.
  • Sulphuric acid – 20 ml. An acid regulator that prevents changes in the valence of manganese and iron, resists the destruction of citrates and the development of fungi and microorganisms in the resulting solution with fertilizers. Sold usually in auto parts stores.
  • To make fertilizer for aquarium plants with your own hands, you only need to consistently dissolve all these substances in the water, waiting for the complete dissolution of each previous chemical.

    Tourmaline in the aquarium – do it yourself fertilizer for plants

    I learned about the use of tourmaline powder in an aquarium from a master class Takashi Amano on the arrangement of a natural aquarium (video below the article). For that period, I didn’t particularly study herbalism and thought: “Another expensive brand garbage from TM ADA”.
    But, as time passed, the aquarium tastes and my preferences changed, so to speak, I began to work closely with aquarium plants and comprehend the wisdom of aquascaping. Then, I remembered the tourmalin that Amano had offered.

    As a person who first reads and studies the essence of the issue, I thoroughly studied the nature of tourmaline and the practical part of its application. And now, having gathered all the information together, I want to share with her.
    So what is tourmaline? It is a mineral from the group of boron aluminosilicates, complex borosilicates of variable composition. This is a crystal that was formed during volcanic eruptions for tens of thousands of years.

    Tourmaline called electric stone, as its crystals produce current (0.06mA). In addition, tourmaline has a complex chemical composition, moreover, variations in the content and ratios of the cations (Fe, Mg, Li, Ca, Ma, Cr, Al, etc.) are so great that it is advisable to consider tourmalines not as a single mineral, but as a whole group!
    Above the voiced characteristics of tourmaline is enough that the leading aquarist containing aquarium plants says: “I want, I want, I want … where can I get it, how much?”. Who else has not guessed, I will say frankly Tourmaline is a complete mineral containing all the necessary microelements for active and lush growth of aquarium plants.

    In addition, tourmaline transmits weak electric charges / impulses, which favorably affect the development of any living cell.
    Thus, using tourmaline, as an additive or substrate substrate for aquarium plants, we get one hundred percent, created by the nature of MICRO UDO (fertilizer) + electric stimulator.
    Where to get – this miracle mineral?
    Well, first, here is the previously voiced ADA Tourmaline BC – Stimulator of growth of all aquarium plants. The mineral mixture of elements: iron, aluminum, boron, sodium, magnesium and lithium, which gradually dissolves in water, enriches it with necessary elements.

    Minerals are electrostatic, which helps to improve the nutrition of the root system of plants.
    The drug ADA Tourmaline BC has natural properties to generate pulses of electric current, which favorably and highly efficiently affect the development of any living cell. Also, the product contains bamboo charcoal, which is able to absorb tourmaline and organic substances that have a negative impact on the development of plants.
    Mode of application:
    Before adding soil, it is necessary to evenly distribute ADA Tourmaline BC at the bottom in accordance with the volume of the aquarium. You can use the measuring spoon attached to the package.
    Cost of ADA Tourmaline BC

    $ 35 per 100g. a jar.
    There is also ADA Tourmaline F – as a filler for the filter. The question arises, and what only ADA thought to apply and sell tourmaline?

    Having rummaged on the Internet, analogues were found, it may be worse in quality, but at times cheaper.
    AQUAXER Tourmaline 7 or 15 fertilizer
    Tourmaline tablets – unique root fertilizer that stimulates the growth of all types of aquarium plants. In the initial stages, the tablet works like a clay ball, when the plant used the main supply of nutrients from the tablet, the second phase begins. The main component is tourmaline powder.

    He fills the water with trace elements throughout the whole year!
    Also, the main advantage of these tablets over fertilizers is that the root system of the plant does not absorb liquid fertilizers because feeds directly from the soil, and the pill is a direct food for the root system of the plant.
    The composition of the tablets include:
    Blue Cambrian
    – (without the content of additives, not cosmetic), which contains elements such as: silica, iron, nitrogen, phosphate, silver, magnesium, manganese, calcium, zinc, aluminum, phosphorus, cobalt, molybdenum, copper. These minerals are electrostatic, which helps to improve the nutrition of the root system of plants.
    Also in the tablet contains a special sphagnum peat, which is able to soften the water. Due to its increased acidity, peat helps to form a high concentration of available iron in the soil for aquarium plants.
    Tourmaline powder, which is part of these tablets, characterized by natural properties for generating impulses of electric current, which contribute to the development of any living organism. With active water, cells of living creatures also become active, which leads to the reproduction of microorganisms and the development of aquarium plants.

    Tourmaline also contains enriched minerals: iron, boron, manganese, which affect the growth of plants and create favorable conditions for aquarium fish.
    Tourmaline prevents the development of bacteria that cause the process of decay, and for a long time keeps the soil in the aquarium in a healthy state. He also has a unique property to retain nutrients in the roots of plants, which is why their growth is enhanced several times.
    These tablets differ from ordinary clay balls in a high concentration of useful substances, and, most importantly, in the service life. Clay ball lasts about 2-3 months.

    When clay is exhausted, it plays the role of only silting the soil.
    The validity of a tourmaline tablet in an aquarium is up to one year, but it is best to place the tablets every 3 months to get the best results. Tourmaline fertilizer is recommended for use with laterite fertilizer and vice versa.
    For example: if your aquarium has more green plants, then it is best to use this proportion – 2 tourmaline tablets + 1 laterite tablet, but if there are more red plants, then 2 laterite tablets + 1 tourmaline tablet.
    Application:
    When already growing plants:
    It is necessary to take a pill in hand, having chosen a place for its location in advance (due to the rapid softening of the pill, it must be quickly placed on the chosen place in the ground). The tablet should be immersed 2–3 cm into the ground, and its distance from the plant’s root system should not exceed 3–4 cm. For an already planted bush (branch), use one tablet.

    If we are talking about a group of plants, then no more than 2-3 tablets fit around the perimeter of the landing.
    The use of tablets for planting:
    a) Plants that have a well-developed root system, it is necessary to do the following: take the roots of the plant, wrap them on a pill (after selecting the place of its planting), plunge the plant into the ground to the base of the root.
    b) Plants without a root system (branch), plant the plant in the ground, and make item number 1.
    3) The use of tablets as a nutritional substrate for plants:
    Before placing the soil in the aquarium, take one tourmaline tablet, crush, and evenly distribute it across the bottom of the aquarium, over an area of 10×10 cm. Distribute the crushed tablets in the same amount over the entire surface, in accordance with the volume of the aquarium.

    7 tablets will be enough for the area of an aquarium on 700 sq. see (for aquarium size 20h35 cm).
    In the package of 7 tablets! Cost – 1 cu
    AQUAXER Laterite 7 or 15
    Effective fertilizer that stimulates the growth of aquarium plants. The composition of this tablet contains a high concentration of iron, manganese and potassium, which are so important for proper and rapid development of plants.

    These elements contribute to the improvement of plant growth, especially necessary for plants with a red color.
    Laterite established itself as an excellent high iron fertilizer. Red plants begin to grow superbly after making this fertilizer. According to research results, it is excellent for nymphs, rotals, Ludwigia, alteonatury and other plants with red leaves.

    This is a balm that will provide chic growth to your plant world.
    The main advantage of these tablets over fertilizers is that liquid fertilizers are poorly absorbed by the root system of plants, because they feed from the soil. Therefore, pills – the solution to all ills.

    They provide direct nutrition to the root system of plants. AQUAXER Laterite dissolves very slowly, which, in fact, is suitable for plants.
    The validity of a lateritic tablet in an aquarium is up to one year, but it is best to place the tablets every 3 months to get the best results. Laterite fertilizer is recommended for use with tourmaline fertilizer and vice versa.
    For example: if your aquarium has more green plants, then it is best to use this proportion – 2 tourmaline tablets + 1 laterite tablet, but if there are more red plants, then 2 laterite tablets + 1 tourmaline tablet.
    Advantages of AQUAXER Laterite 7 or 15:
    • Creating a biological balance in the aquarium.
    • When planting and transplanting plants, their survival rate improves.
    • Growth of roots accelerates.
    • Promotes the creation of a nutrient base for plants.
    • Provides protection to the mucous membrane of the roots.
    • Activate the primer.

    Having run through the city’s pet stores, alas, I was disappointed! Sellers looked at me with bewilderment, they say, “Sho for tourmaline is such.”

    Fortunately, there are online stores where there is a lot of “tourmaline good”.

    ADDITION
    Recently, I boasted on the forum that I acquired
    tourmaline bracelet for 250r.
    So it turns out, salesmen-cheaters are found not only in pet stores))) Madame. from which I took this bras swore that this is tourmaline.

    In short, I took the bracelet at night – in the dark, and when the next day I saw it in the sun. (((I noticed air bubbles in the beads. – glass, do not go to the geologist! In general, God forbid honest sellers of health. Today I went and bought a real tourmaline Cherl, Dravit and Verdilit.

    30 rub. per gram. Expensive, but on the spot!
    So that none of the aquarists will no longer be caught, as I am on such vendors, posting all the varieties of tourmaline:
    To date, there are many varieties of this mineral. Depending on the chemical composition, the crystals are divided into:
    Schorl – black tourmaline, the predominance of iron.

    Tsilaizit – the predominance of sodium, potassium and aluminum;

    Elbait – the predominance of magnesium;

    Dravit – lack of predominance.

    Indigolit – blue tourmaline. The name is due to the occurring minerals with a variety of blue hues. Rare species.

    Samples of indigolite can have not only pure blue color, but also greenish-blue, bluish-black. Synonyms: Brazilian or Ceylon sapphire.

    It is believed that the stone helps to calmly fall asleep. Brings peace, tranquility, promotes contemplation and wisdom.

    Rubellite – a stone with shades from pink to red. Ruby red and red tourmaline are most appreciated.

    This is a popular type of mineral, recognized as precious and deservedly painted in pendants, pendants, earrings, rings. Rubellite deposits are found in California, Madagascar, Sri Lanka and Russia. The largest gems, whose length was 130 cm, were found in Brazil.

    The cost of such copies has reached several thousand dollars.

    Verdelit – green variety of gem. The emerald green stone is most appreciated, the green tourmaline of this color is also called the Brazilian emerald.

    This is one of the most common types of mineral.

    Siberia – densely crimson, purple-red, red-violet variety of tourmalines. The name of the stone was in honor of Siberia – the place of discovery.

    Although the first crystals were found in the Urals.

    Ahroit – a rare colorless or almost colorless stone. Tourmaline white is the most precious.

    However, this variety is devoid of all the attractive characteristics and is valued only for its rarity.

    Chrome Tourmaline – emerald green crystal.

    Chamelionite – an amazing kind of mineral that has an “alexandrite” effect: olive-green in daylight and red-brown in artificial.

    Watermelon tourmaline – the most amazing polychrome variety, parts of which are painted either green or red. Very often, the crystal is a slice of watermelon (for which he was named): the red core is surrounded by a green border. Paraiba – gem with shades from blue to blue-green.

    This variety represents high quality samples and is today a real treasure.

    Collectors are in demand such varieties as the “head of the Turk” and “the head of the Moor.” The crystal of the first type is a light color and a black head, while the second type is characterized by a light color and a black head.
