What to do if the water in the aquarium dimmed :: The water in the aquarium dimmed what to do :: Care and education

Novice aquarists often encounter the phenomenon of clouding the water in an aquarium. This can happen for various reasons and it is important to know how to solve this problem quickly, so as not to harm its inhabitants.

The question “How does a little girl retrain to go to the tray (she is 4 months old)? “- 3 answers

Some newcomers are in a hurry to equip their first aquarium and populate it with fish. Therefore, after a few hours the water becomes turbid with a whitish tinge.

This is due to the violation of the biological balance – the number of bacteria increases dramatically. Water must first go through a period of “ripening”.

To do this, you first need to plant aquarium plants, pour the water that has settled for two days and leave the aquarium for several days. During this time, the water will become transparent, sometimes slightly greenish.

Biological balance will be restored and now you can run the fish.

In some cases, and in a long-functioning aquarium, the mass reproduction of bacteria begins, this happens when there are a lot of fish and the aquarium is not cared for. In this case, you should do a general cleaning.

Sow the fish in another container, clean the soil, remove excess plants, replace the water and wait a few days until the water is clear – the balance will not return to normal.

Sometimes water can become cloudy if you give a lot of dry food. Fish eat it poorly, the remnants begin to rot, which contributes to the proliferation of bacteria. Therefore, it is recommended to switch to the use of live food, for example, bloodworms.

It should be given at the rate of up to 5 pieces per medium fish. Also great help in the destruction of uneaten remnants of food provide snails, but their numbers also need to be controlled.

Under the wrong light, the water may turn green, become muddy, and a raid appears on the glasses, plants and decorations. This is due to the rapid increase in the amount of algae. In such cases, make the replacement of the third part of the water 1 time per week, run the fish that eat algae, strengthen or, conversely, reduce the lighting.

Be sure to turn on water filtration. Remove plaque from windows with a special scraper.

The problem of turbidity is easier to prevent than to eliminate. Therefore, follow a few rules:

– do not change the water in the aquarium completely, except for emergency measures;
– adjust the amount of feed, normally it should be eaten with fish for 10-15 minutes;
– watch the number of fish in the aquarium, do not allow overcrowding;
– regularly replace water;
– Do not forget to remove overgrown plants, clean the soil and filter the water.

Novice aquarists often encounter such a problem – the water in the aquarium becomes cloudy. This may be due to several reasons, and they need to be fixed as soon as possible.

The question “How does a little girl retrain to go to the tray (she is 4 months old)? “- 3 answers

1. If you poured water from the tap into the aquarium, without letting it stand, it will become whitish and muddy the next day. This is due to the rapid multiplication of microorganisms. It will be right to let the water stand for at least 2 days, then pour it into the aquarium with the soil and plants.

Let it stand still for 5-7 days, until the eco-balance is normalized, at the very least, launch the fish and other inhabitants. The water will be clear with a slight greenish tint.

2. If you run a lot of fish at once, the water also becomes cloudy. This is due to overpopulation of the aquarium.

Since the balance is broken. Even after you add one single fish to the existing ones, the water can also become cloudy.

But if there is no overpopulation, then soon the balance will be restored, and the water will again become transparent.

3. When improperly fed water becomes cloudy. This is caused by rotting at the bottom of the remnants of feed. Therefore, follow the rule: “It is better to underfeed – than to overfeed.”

Fish should eat everything in 15 minutes. Or get somkami that pick up the remains from the bottom in minutes.

4. Improper soil – one of the causes of water turbidity. Take well-washed river sand or pebbles to the aquarium; they also need to be boiled.

And if you have bottom fish, they will raise the dregs, rummaging in the ground.

5. If the water suddenly dims, check to see if some fish have died. In a decaying environment, bacteria multiply rapidly, and this will cause water damage in the aquarium.

6. Water can not only grow cloudy, but also turn green. Most likely this is caused by the rapid reproduction of algae.

It is necessary to clean the aquarium, enhance its lighting and partially change the water.

So that the water in the aquarium does not become cloudy, once a week, change one third to the new space. Remove from the bottom of the siphon the accumulated remnants of the life of the fish. In time, weed the plants.

And keep the rate of water on one fish. For small ones, like guppies, 3 liters is enough, for large ones, like veils, take 10 liters.

Any aquarist came across a clouded aquarium. Slime forms in the aquarium, the water becomes cloudy – obviously something is not right in the created little world.

Most often, newcomers are faced with this, but even experienced fish breeders are not always able to keep the water clean and clear. It doesn’t matter if you have a new pond or not, the water in it may still become cloudy for a number of reasons that can be dealt with.

Why do such problems start? Dregs, mucus on the walls, other rot in the water, due to which it is required to change the water and filter constantly, these are the results of the life of putrefactive bacteria. The reasons for their sharing in your fish and the fact that the aquarium is dimmed are:

  • Insufficient lighting.
  • The presence of parasitic plants such as filament.
  • Overpopulation of aquarium and overfeeding of fish in it.
  • Bad water filtration system.
  • Increased phosphate and nitrite concentrations in the aquarium.

Mold in the aquarium and other troubles can occur if plants start to decompose due to insufficient lighting. Algae rot, water goes dead, there is an unpleasant smell.

Pisces cannot live in such an environment. The big problem associated with algae becomes filament. A parasitic algae that kills other plants and kills them.

Needle can cause rotting of plants and why the vessel has grown dim.

When fish are often fed and they do not have time to eat everything, it is clear why the water becomes cloudy. Remains of food settle to the bottom, decompose and quickly spoil the microflora.

The first rule that needs to be learned by anyone is that it is better to feed less fish than to overfeed. In this case, necessarily having a sufficient number of plants – they will gradually eat up them.

If your miniature reservoir is dimmed, the reason may lie in a poor filtration system. You need to approach the filters in detail, check them before running the fish.

A bad filtering system can cause not only turbidity, but also poisoning of the inhabitants.

When the reservoir dimmed, you need to take prompt action to correct the situation. The turbidity in the aquarium itself will not go anywhere, if you do not understand why it appeared and not eliminate the cause. First aid consists of the following steps:

  1. Siphon the ground with a siphon.
  2. Carefully clean the filter and add a little activated carbon to it.
  3. Do not feed fish for 2-3 days.
  4. Change to a quarter of the water in the aquarium in the old or boiled.

Completely change the water is not worth it, so that putrefactive bacteria did not find a new food for themselves and it did not dim again. In the future, it is also important to keep track of what plants you add – new ones may already have thread, which will spoil the microflora of the reservoir very quickly.

Aquarium is a special natural-territorial complex with individual properties. Changing one part may entail a change in the whole. So, consider the main causes of turbidity:

  • improperly selected soil;
  • improper feeding of the inhabitants;
  • overpopulation;
  • frequent or abnormal water changes;
  • missing or malfunctioning filter;
  • the presence of large fish;
  • small size aquarium.

All these factors lead either to mechanical pollution of the water, or, worse, to bacterial.

Consider the cases of mechanical pollution. These include the small size of the aquarium, the presence of large fish, the wrong ground.

The small size of the aquarium leads to frequent biochemical flashes, especially if the inhabitants are chosen incorrectly. Thus, the smallest containers are usually allocated for shrimps, snails, and other relatively neutral residents.

When dregs appear, it is necessary to reconsider and, if possible, change the population of the aquarium, settle the filtration. Perhaps the problem is in the wrong type of filter.

Tips for eliminating:

  1. Change the location of the filter (from horizontal to vertical or vice versa), as the landscape can interfere with the flow of water.
  2. Replace the filter itself. A stronger filter or another type of filter (bottom, internal, external) can help.
  3. Change the filter filler.
  4. Follow the lighting in the day, if necessary, reduce it.
  5. Change the population from too large fish to small ones or reduce the number of small fish, but increase the number of biological cleaners.

The reason for the turbidity of water may be excessive feeding of fish. It should be at least a few days deliberately underfed pets, make sure that the food has been eaten completely. How to determine whether ate fish? After 15 minutes from the start of feeding you need to remove all the remnants of food, preventing rotting residues at the bottom and the subsequent deterioration of water.

The soil must be properly selected, pet shop consultants will always help. And it also needs to be poured competently, not evenly horizontally, but with a slope to the back wall in order to make it easier to clean.

The color of the water in the aquarium is determined by various factors. Among them are the presence of living plants or slugs, feed properties, low oxygen saturation, reproduction of bacteria and, as a result, the growth of algae that settle on the ground, glass, and everything that is in the water.

Reproduction of microscopic green euglenic algae leads to the staining of the aquatic environment in a yellow-green or bright green unnatural color. A small amount of these plants is always available in any aquarium. They get with food, imperceptibly contained even in clear water.

And active reproduction leads to greening, which can be caused by improperly organized, excessive lighting of the aquarium. Trying to keep the fish in sight, you still need to protect them from direct sunlight, as well as from enhanced artificial lighting. In winter, lighting should be switched on for no more than 10 hours, and on a summer day – for 12 hours.

Otherwise, euglena can cover both walls and decor items; it will not be so easy to clean them in the future.

To combat single-celled algae, you can place a horn plant in the aquarium, which will release water from excess nitrogen, and the growth of microalgae will be stopped. If possible, add tadpoles or daphnias, and after a day remove them from purified water.

An increased level of phosphate in the water also leads to its fast greening. These salts may be contained in large quantities in fish feed and into the water with excrement. The source of phosphate can serve as tap water.

To combat excess phosphate, you can plant special plants. Chemical methods are used for cleaning.

There are special powders for sale that are harmless to fish and plants.

When buying fish to novice aquarists, it is recommended to always consult with experts working in the store. They will help not only to choose the ground, filter, food, but also explain what kind of fish can be planted in one aquarium.
