Artificial aquarium

maintenance, care, compatibility

The measured movement of the fish in the water fascinates and calms. For this we love aquariums. But not everyone is ready to get real water inhabitants at home for this, because they need special care.

An artificial aquarium is able to satisfy our desire to acquire our own piece of the reservoir and not worry about caring for it at all.

There are several options for the execution of such an aquarium. The most common is an artificial aquarium nightlight.

Such an original lamp is multifunctional and will definitely not leave anyone indifferent.

It can be installed in the living room, bedroom, children’s room or in the office. Both children and adults alike enjoy this night light. It at the same time decorates the interior, serves as a night lamp and has an excellent soothing and relaxing effect.

The illusion of movement of the fish leads to good thoughts, adjusts to a positive, promotes calm contemplation and relaxation.

Another type of ornamental aquariums with artificial fish is homemade or purchased aquariums filled with transparent gel with imitations of fish and underwater plants placed into it. And also – collages and voluminous panels on the aquarium theme.

Of course, nothing will move in it, it is just a frozen picture.

Many novice aquarists are often at a standstill intractable questions for themselves: what plants should be placed in a home aquarium – live or artificial? Are there any representatives of living flora requiring special care, or rather artificial artificial plantations in the aquarium?

Let’s try to figure it out together.

Before you get the fish in the aquarium, you should take care of its filling. In addition to various coatings for the bottom, such as sand or stones, it is also necessary to provide your pets with various shelters in the form of houses and various types of algae.

However, some fish love to enjoy the vegetation in aquariums. For the establishment of such species should be purchased with special, artificial algae.

Despite all the arguments, people reluctantly seek to start those in their aquariums. It’s worth starting with the fact that any person, as soon as he hears or sees the word “artificial”, tries in every way to avoid an object with this parameter. This is the most important rejection factor.

Many people mistakenly believe that the lack of natural plants in an aquarium adversely affects its inhabitants and can lead to their death. Despite such a negative in their attitude, it is worth analyzing the positive aspects of these “decorations”.

Non-natural algae have a lot of advantages in relation to the usual aquarium flora. The first thing you should pay attention to is the artificiality of these plants, it is from it that most of the advantages come:

  • Do not require care. Due to the fact that the plants are not alive, you will not need to monitor them, pruning each time they grow.
  • You can safely install in aquariums with herbivorous fish. Unlike living, artificial plants in an aquarium will not be touched by fish, which means their house will always have an aesthetic look.
  • Do not require special lighting. Unlike living algae, artificial does not require special lighting, as they do not photosynthesize.
  • The composition of the water is not important. The water in the aquarium, where there will be no real algae, can correspond to any indicators, and it can be adjusted specifically for the fish that will live in it.
  • Can keep a fresh look for a long time.

Plastic, unlike plants, is not susceptible to diseases, which means that plants consisting of it will last much longer.

Thanks to all these advantages, such plants are perfect for quarantine aquariums, where fish need special conditions and the slightest changes in parameters can lead to dire consequences.

Many people mistakenly believe that artificial doubles are much more expensive than natural algae. But this is not the case, the cost of those and others is approximately equal, and sometimes analogs can cost much lower than natural grass.

Artificial plants not only ennoble the appearance of an aquarium, they also have practical significance. Such plants are shelter for fish, they do not need to replant and feed, they do not get sick, while the inhabitants of the aquarium do not eat them.

They do not spoil the water, as they are not subject to rotting, do not grow, are easily cleaned from plaque, they always look alive and fresh.

So is it possible to place artificial plants in an aquarium? The answer is obvious – it is possible, especially since modern manufacturers use for them environmentally friendly materials that do not cause any harm to aquarium fish.

Such plants long retain their original appearance, of which it is possible to make various compositions.

If the owner of the aquarium does not have much time to care for it, and if the aquarium in the house is designed to perform a decorative function, then artificial plants in it will be simply indispensable.

Many companies are engaged in the production and sale of plastic aquarium plants, it contributes to their diversity. Visually, artificial plants in an aquarium differ little from living ones, therefore the design of such an aquarium looks great.

The design of an aquarium with artificial plants can be made so exquisite that it can compete with any design of living plants. In addition, plastic plants do not gnaw fish, do not die and do not stir up the water.

Different in shape and color scheme, artificial plants can make the design of an aquarium unusually attractive.

Most artificial plants are copies of living aquarium counterparts, therefore, in combination with them, they will fully complement the overall design. You just need to know how to prepare artificial plants for the aquarium.

When purchasing them, you need to pay attention to their smell – it should not be too harsh, and before lowering them into the aquarium, you must thoroughly rinse them first in running water and then in hot, but without using any chemicals or soap.

You can check such products before use by putting them in a solution with whiteness (having previously read the rules for using whiteness in an aquarium) – if they do not change color and do not stain water, it means that high-quality material was used to produce them.
