Limnophila indian (Limnophila indica)

Indian Limnophila (Limnophila indica) – aquarium plant family Norichnikovye (Scrophulariaceae).

Inhabits Indian limnophila in bodies of water with flowing or stagnant water of Australia, Africa and the tropical part of Southeast Asia. The plant is most common among aquarists, its thickets can be an ornament to any aquarium.

Stem Limnofila indian straight, slightly branched. In height, the plant reaches half a meter.

The leaves of the pinnatus form are arranged up to 20 leaflets in a whorl. The color of the leaf plate depends on the lighting: it is usually light green, but in bright light it acquires a reddish-brown color. The plant blooms with pale pink flowers that bloom above the water.

This plant is rooted in the soil.

Have limnofilu indian groups in the background or along the side walls aquarium. Thickets of this plant act as a shelter and breeding ground for many females and viviparous aquarium fish.

When damaged, the plant releases into the water a substance that is toxic to fish, so in aquarium the plant is placed already pruned and well washed. Plant grows in conditions aquarium evenly and quickly. For several months, one branch can turn into a beautiful, dense undergrowth.
