Kabomba reddish or Kabomba furcata (Cabomba piauhyensis, Cabomba furcata)

Kabomba reddish (Cabomba piauhyensis) or, as it is called, Kabomba furkata (Cabomba furcata) is an aquarium plant of the Cabombaceae family (Cabombaceae).

Kabomba reddish thick carpet spreads in standing or low-flowing water bodies of the Big Antilles and the northern region of South America.

Top underwater sheet has a color from olive-green to reddish, the bottom of the sheet is red. Floating leaves in length up to 3 cm, have a lanceolate form.

The petals of the corolla are painted in purple, with each edge, at the base, there is a yellow spot. The root system of this plant is fibrous.

Optimum water parameters for content of this plants: temperature in the range of 24-28 ° С, pH 6.0-6.8, hardness not higher than 8 °. Kabomba reddish needs bright illuminated.

To create artificial lighting, fluorescent lamps, whose power is 0.7 watts per liter, are used as illuminators. Duration of daylight hours – 12 hours.

Coarse sand is used as a primer.

Breeds cabomba reddish cuttings, which act as whole shoots with part of the rhizome. Otherwise, small cuttings may not settle down.
