In a coarse-grained substrate, the daughter plants are formed too close to the parent, and as a result, both plants suffer from a lack of nutrients. Wendt’s cryptocoryne root system is quite powerful and advanced.

The soil on the bottom of the aquarium is laid out with a layer of more than 5 cm. The plant does not need mineral fertilizing, but it is very useful to make microelements in small doses – molybdenum, boron, ferrous iron, copper and manganese (0.1 mg / l) several times a month.

Cryptocoryne Wendt, grown in the greenhouse, look not so impressive than in aquarium, but grows much faster and blooms. The soil in the greenhouse should be swampy and very wet. A mixture of humus, sod land, sand and peat is suitable as a substrate.

Cryptocoryne Wendt in artificial conditions propagated only vegetatively, rhizome division and basal offspring. After a young plant has 2-3 leaflets, it can be separated and planted in a new place.
