Anubias Nana has a short stem, simple petioled leaves collected in the outlet. Dark green sheet plate has an ovoid shape and a glossy surface. Leaf length – 4-8 cm, width – 3-4 cm.
In comparison with the leaf, the scape is rather short, its length is 3-5 cm. aquarium plants creeping strong rhizome, with a large number of shoots.
AT aquarium Anubias dwarf it is preferable to place in the foreground a group of several plants. Having deepened the roots in the substrate, the rhizome itself can be placed on a snag or stone. For Anubiasa Nana characterized by slow growth, but after sprawl, it can form dense thickets, where many shelters find aquarium fish.
Thanks to its tough leaves Anubias Barter good for aquariums, which contain cichlids. For such a shade-loving plant as Anubias dwarf lighting should be moderate, otherwise it will begin to grow into algae and will have a sloppy look.
Luminescent lamps of type LB (0.3 W / l) or incandescent lamps with frosted bulbs are well suited for creating artificial lighting. Light day should last at least 12 hours.
Water parameters for anubias content dwarf: temperature – 22-28 ° С (grows rather slowly, if the temperature is below 20 ° С), hardness 2-15 °, pH 6-7.5. Desirable filtration and weekly water change up to 25% volume aquarium.
The most suitable soil will be large river sand and small pebbles (if you choose a soil of large particles, the root system of the plant develops more difficult). The root system is small, does not go deep into the ground. When planting the plant, only the roots go deeper, the rhizome should be left at the top.
Overgrown Anubias dwarf, rises above the ground and creates a dense plexus of roots, which makes it possible to support it above the ground, like supports. There is no need to feed mineral fertilizers.
Breeding Anubiasa Nana occurs by cutting, with the help of rhizome branch. Anubias transplantation is possible only after 5-6 leaflets appear on its process. This plant is also suitable for paludarium and for a wet greenhouse.
The substrate should consist of humus, peat, turf and sand. During the maintenance of Anubias in the greenhouse, it is characterized by slower growth than in the aquarium.
