Fish optimist, just look at the eternal smirk and try to look into the shifty eyes. This is a collection of interesting things in one small, round body of a dwarf tetradon. Do you know puffer fish?

Here which the Japanese cook and eat with the risk of poisoning? So, these are close relatives. And tetradons can swell up to the state of a ball in order to make the predator breakfast less enjoyable.

They also swim like small airships, ignoring the age-old abilities of other fish.

In the aquarium, he cheerfully cuts off the fins to other fish, small swallows without chewing. And yes, if you decide to contain either a file, buy it, or a snail bag.

The tetradon is constantly growing teeth, and he needs to either file them or give something hard to bite, such as snails.

For a long time, the man was attracted by the fascinating underwater world, and he learned how to create his mini-model in his home. We are talking, of course, about the domestic pond – an aquarium, in which quite unusual inhabitants often live. Aquarium pets can be distinguished among other representatives of their own kind, not only by the shape of the fins and body or the coloring of scales, but also by non-standard behavior, as well as the functions they perform in the reservoir.

On the unusual aquarium fish, adding exotic charm, originality and beauty to the reservoir, we will describe further.

The most expensive aquarium fish, according to many experts, is considered the elite representative of the underwater world of Arowana (Arowana) – it’s a dragon fish that can reach a length of 80 cm.

The cost of each individual individual depends on its size and expressiveness of color. The average price of this pet is $ 5000, but there are rare specimens for which aquarists spread up to $ 400,000.

The most expensive type of fish is Platinum Arowana, a white dragon with a platinum shade.

The popularity of Arovan is not least due to the antiquity of its origin – representatives of this species have lived on Earth for more than 200 million years.

Today, the efforts of breeders brought many varieties of this rare fish. Dragons vary in fin shape, scale, size.

Elite species include Arowana of rare shades: platinum, red, gold, purple.

Perhaps because of its exclusivity and the high cost of living in China, it is a symbol of wealth.

Otherwise, Synchiropus splendidus is a bright exotic fish of only 6 cm in size that amazes with its beauty and harmonious combination of its coloring.

The natural habitat of these charming babies is the western Pacific area – from the Japanese islands in the north to the Australian latitudes in the south.

A favorite place to stay Mandarin are coastal reefs and quiet cozy lagoon. They live in numerous colonies, but to meet them in their natural environment is a rare success.

Synchiropus splendidus sink to the bottom and spend all the time there in search of food: small crustaceans, hay-eaters, scuds.

The appearance of a tangerine is truly extraordinary: an elongated body with a rounded, slightly flattened head is covered with smooth, scratchy, motley colored skin. Fish and lips attract with their size, they are too big, but noticeably add to the appearance of the pet.

The name tangerines received its name due to the unusual color of the skin, which looks like the clothes of the imperial tangerines in China.

It is a true decoration of aquariums. In nature, there are only two species of this exotic fish:

  • Symphysodon discus;
  • Symphysodon aequifasciatus.

They are delivered to the aquarium market from the South American continent.

But today they are no longer limited to this – the breeders took the case some time ago. As a result of their activity, the emergence of new species of fish:

  • the Dragon;
  • pigeon blood;
  • red Schillingmann;
  • uniform red and others.

Each of these varieties is characterized by its unique color. The shape of the body of the discus resembles a colored disc (from sand to reddish) with various wavy multi-colored lines arranged in different directions.

A rather large fin on the back is also decorated with wavy lines, and the elegant elongated pectoral and anal shape completes the attractive image of the discus.

Speaking of underwater beauties, it is impossible not to mention the Betta fighting fish (in a different way, the Cockerel). The natural habitat of this aquarium pet is water bodies with stagnant water in Southeast Asia, Vietnamese and Thai slow-flowing rivers with lush flowering vegetation and marshy bottom.

Externally attractive males with beautiful plumage of fins of various shades have truly fighting qualities, for which they received one of their names. This is especially characteristic of males, which individual gambling amateurs are specially bred to participate in combat duels.

This kind of matches is collected by many spectators, where there are winners and losers.

If we talk about the appearance of the Betta fish, the natural most common color of her body is dark brown with a lot of green spots. The veil variety of the cockerel of the most varied colors – green, blue, yellow, white-pink, red, less often black – appeared due to the efforts of breeders.

Mostly aquarists appreciate the specimens that have lush one-color fins. Such cockerels are very rare.

Under the conditions of captivity, the life of Bett’s fighting fish is no more than three years.

The aquarium world fascinates with its unusual beauty, prompting many people to engage in aquarism. The numberlessness and variability of species in the underwater world amazes the imagination, and it is sometimes very difficult, if possible, to choose the best from this variety.

The scariest fish in the world. Unusual fish species. Scary fish on the ocean floor

There is a fish that has survived many cataclysms and brought to our days an unusual look, which may have been characteristic of many of its relatives. This is a mixin. She feeds in a very peculiar way: she climbs inside the victim and scrubs her body with her lips.

She is also called a slimy creature. It produces a lot of mucus through the side pores.

This is a defense mechanism. Predators fear such dubious prey, as they can choke on its unpleasant secretions.

Mucus is also needed so that the fish can get out of the “food”. Interestingly, mucus sometimes clogs her nostril. To get rid of unpleasant secretions in time, myxina learned to sneeze!

Among fish, this is the only such capable creature!

The water world is full of other unusual representatives. Sometimes they are dangerous and scary.

Before meeting with them, it is recommended to study the pictures of the most terrible fish, so as not to get into their mouths or “feet”. Precautionary measures will not damage not only tourists traveling to exotic countries, but also domestic tourists. “Forced relocation”, carried out by hapless aquarium enthusiasts, leads to the fact that dangerous representatives of the depths of the sea can meet in quite harmless bodies of water.

Scary fish at the bottom of the ocean can scare anyone. Fortunately, only divers, who are known to have strong nerves, can see them at arm’s length so far. In those places where the sun’s rays can not get through, inhabit anglers.

They are called the ugliest of sea creatures. Being ashamed of their appearance, they lead a bottom existence. They are buried in sand and wait for prey.

They look scary. On the huge head, cut by a wide mouth, ugly thorns flaunt.

The teeth of the fish are not only sharp, but also bent inward. If you meet such a monster in the darkness of the sea, you can get a heart attack.

These monsters grow to a two-meter length. In addition, the colors are gray or brown, so that they cannot be seen from afar. In order not to offend an innocent creature, it must be said that the names of deep-sea fish themselves can be frightening.

So, among these creatures there is a sack and a pouch! And how to treat sea slug or saber-toothed?

Imagination suggests all sorts of horrors.

Not only monsters can surprise and amaze. There are creatures in the sea that shake their uniqueness. Unusual species of fish can be found in almost any large body of water.

For example, a handfish lives in the seas around Australia. It is amazing because it does not swim, but moves in shallow water, resting on its fins.

The latter look like small pens. And in the depths of the Pacific Ocean found a telescope fish.

Her eyes are akin to a complex optical mechanism, both in the number of “lenses” and in the pickup system. Since ancient times, they talked about such a miracle as flying fish.

She can jump out of the water and quickly fly almost half a kilometer! But the size affects such a miracle as mola-mola (fish-moon). She can weigh up to one and a half tons!

Such a beauty will fall on the diver – it will not find it! Among the unusual celebrate the fish Pegasus.

Not only that, she reoriented her mouth down, so also repainted at its discretion. That such a miracle created nature!

Fish with human teeth. Unusual fish of the world – photo

Some inhabitants of the underwater world are familiar to us, others we used for food, and not everyone even knows about the existence of the third. There are some types of fish, the existence of which we did not even guess. They are completely different: huge and tiny, dangerous and not very, with fancy shapes and strange names.

From this article you will learn that there is, for example, a fish with human teeth. Its name is probably not known to everyone.

Many strange fish live in underwater depths, we will talk about them too. So, let’s start the journey to the fascinating and exotic world of fish.

Fish with human teeth: why is it called that?

The most important difference between pacu and piranha is the structure of the teeth. Piranha, as we know, is the owner of sharp teeth, which many compare to a razor. But the fish with human teeth has a completely different structure of the jaws, that’s why it is called so.

If you look into her mouth, you can really be frightened and terrified. Her teeth are square and straight, they are very similar to human ones. Fish uses them mainly for grinding fruit and nuts, although it can eat and invertebrates.

It was her craving for nuts that once deprived the genitals of two fishermen in Papua New Guinea. As you can see, although pacu is not such a predator like piranha, the strength of its jaws can still cause irreparable harm.

But in the US, the fish is legal, and anyone can buy it and put it in an aquarium. But for some reason, people do not take into account that a pack can grow up to a meter and weigh about 30 kg. Therefore, then the owners simply release it into the nearest reservoir.

This may explain the fact of the appearance of fish in Denmark, England. Some sources report that there is already a pak even in Russia.

Continuing to talk about what unusual fishes of the world exist, we cannot lose sight of this sweet creature. The lionfish is mostly still among the corals, only occasionally swimming from one place to another.

It attracts the attention of people and numerous aquatic creatures with unusual coloring, dorsal and pectoral fins, which resemble a large fan. However, behind the bright appearance hidden sharp needles that emit poison.

A fish will never be the first to attack a man, but if he accidentally steps on it or even touches it, then just one injection will greatly deteriorate the general state of health. And after several injections, a person will not be able to swim to the shore by himself, he will need help.

This unusual individual lives in the Atlantic, Pacific, Indian oceans. The body of the large is narrow and long (up to 1 meter).

And the mouth has a huge size (the third part of the entire length of the body), and it can also stretch. This unusual inhabitant of the oceans has no scales, ribs, swim bladder and normal bone skeleton.

The thin body on the tail turns into a thread, at the end of which there is a luminous organ. Due to the presence in the skeleton of only light cartilage and deformed bones, the fish is very light, it has tiny eyes and a very small skull.

The size of the mouth allows Bolsherota to swallow prey that is larger than itself.

It is impossible to see this fish and not cry out with fear and surprise at the same time. Why?

Because she has a clear head! A barrel-eye (second name) can easily track the prey through such a head with its tubular eyes.

The individual was discovered only in 1939. In her usual environment, she is motionless, and if she decides to move, she does it in a horizontal position and very slowly.

Previously, it was completely incomprehensible how the eyes of a fish work, because right above its mouth there are organs of smell, and the eyes are located right inside its amazingly transparent head, and they only look upwards. In 2009, scientists finally found out that the macropinnas have a very unusual structure of the eye muscles.

It turns out that the eyes of the fish are usually in an upright position, and if there is a need to look ahead, then it moves them to the horizontal! Once this happens, she can see her mouth and grab the prey!

This is the real deep-sea monster. It is called not only angler fish, but also a devil fish.

This fish has black bare skin, a spherical body shape, and the female has a “fishing pole”. This predator hunts due to a special growth on the back – in the process of evolution one part of the dorsal fin separated from the others, and at its end a transparent bag appeared in which bacteria live. What is most interesting, angler can make so that these bacteria are highlighted!

He himself regulates this by constricting or dilating the blood vessels. The female can grow up to 65 cm, and the male – only up to 15-45 mm! When the male ends puberty, it attaches to the female with sharp teeth (usually on the side).

Soon he grows together with her tongue and lips, and his teeth, intestines, eyes are reduced in such a way that he becomes a simple appendage that has lost its independence.
