Hello dear readers! Tayeria Krivoprosaya is an aquarium fish that belongs to the Kharacin family.
In nature, it lives in the Amazon Basin. For the first time this hydrobiont hit the territory of the European continent back in 1935.
In tairii, the curved strip is flattened at the sides and an elongated body, ending in a two-blade fin. The back of the fish is greenish-olive, and the belly is silvery-white.
A dark stripe with a golden border runs along the entire length of the back. It starts from the gill covers and ends at the tail fin. Unpaired fins are blue, and the rest are colorless.
Sexual dimorphism: males have a more slender body and relatively smaller sizes than females. In addition, in males the lower lobe of the tail is elongated.
The maximum size of an adult fish does not exceed 7 centimeters in length.
Taiirea is a fairly agile, timid and peaceful aquarium fish. When she swims in the aquarium, her body is at a certain angle, while she herself is swaying from side to side.
Since this is a rather fearful representative of the Kharacin ones, it is imperative that the aquarium be covered with a lid, otherwise all your pets will jump out of it.
Best of all, if you keep these fish in flocks in quantities of 10 pieces. They can easily get along with other peaceful aquarium fish of the same size.
Taeriya holds mainly in the middle and upper layers of water. For crooked tairii, an aquarium is needed that is 80 centimeters long, in which various aquarium plants must be present. Particular attention should be paid to planting plants along the walls.
The best option would be the use of spiral vallisneria, ambulium, cabomba and ludwigiya. Do not forget to leave enough space for swimming.
In principle, the aquatic substrate does not play any role, but large river sand looks best with these fish. The light in the aquarium should be muffled and diffused. The water in the aquarium should have the following parameters:
- water temperature: 23-28 ° C;
- hardness: 6-15 °;
- active reaction environment: 6.0-8.0 pH;
Do not forget about high-quality filtration and aeration of aquarium water. Because tairii like clean water, it is recommended to make water changes every week in the amount of 1/3 of the volume.
It is desirable to keep the fish live food, and in particular: daphnia, bloodworm, artemia. In the natural environment, the hydrobiont feeds mainly on worms and also on small crustaceans and insects.
Mature crooked Taiirea becomes one year old. To get offspring, you need to get a spawn so that it can provide up to 20 liters per pair of fish.
At the bottom is laid separator mesh and several bushes of Javanese moss. The light in the spawning is muted. Breeding conditions are as follows:
- temperature: 26 ° C;
- pH: not more than 6.5;
- water hardness: 8 °.
A group of producers needs up to two weeks to keep apart in different aquariums and actively feed. The optimal time for spawning is evening, because during this time until the morning the fish will perform all their mating rituals and will begin to multiply in the morning. The male strikes the side of the female and knocks the spawn from it, which immediately fertilizes.
The whole process of spawning lasts up to two hours, during which the female can sweep aside up to a thousand eggs. Of course, the bulk of caviar will die.
Apparently, the main cause of sperm is killed in the external environment.
In order to significantly reduce the percentage of dead calf, after spawning, it is necessary to replace a large amount of water with fresh water, so that it has the same parameters. And then remove from the spawning manufacturers and shade the aquarium.
The incubation period lasts about a day. After 3-4 days, the fry already swim and feed independently.
Starter feed for small things is egg yolk, rotifers, nauplii of crustaceans and ciliates. After 10 days you can try to feed the fry with nauplii of artemia.
Juveniles grow quite quickly and by the month of life their size can reach 1.5-2 cm in length.
