Many aquarists know that the size of an aquarium is of paramount importance for the health of its population, maintaining a biobalance in it, and the correct water parameters. The larger the aquarium, the more fish you can add to it. But not always a novice aquarist can spend a large amount of money on a decent size bank and all the necessary equipment.
Often, quite the opposite happens; a pet store with a volume of 25–40 liters is purchased, equipped with integrated lighting, an aerator and filter, and populated with all sorts of beautiful fish, but due to improper selection of their sizes, this almost always leads to sad consequences.
If you are already limited in the budget and the money is enough only for a small aquarium, then you should pay more attention to the fish that you lodge in it, small aquarium fish. Over the long history of aquarism, various small fish were found in nature, which were successfully relocated to an aquarium and, using a selection method, brought out many beautiful colors and shapes. Even in a 20-liter aquarium, you can populate a couple of small fish 5-6 cm long, but most fish prefer to swim in flocks, so our couple will not be comfortable in such a miniature jar.
From this it follows that if we want to increase the number of fish in an aquarium, it is necessary to hook up smaller fish, and we calculate the size of an adult individual. In this article, we have provided descriptions of several species of small aquarium fish, which can be contained even in a 10-liter jar.

The dwarf tetradon is much quieter than its large counterparts, therefore it can be well kept in aquariums with snails. Life expectancy in an aquarium is up to 7 years.
