For the maintenance of the Rainbow Chemigrammogers, you need a spacious aquarium, not necessarily deep, but preferably elongated in length with sufficient space for free swimming. In the design of the aquarium, you must use a large number of plants that form thickets for sheltering fish and shady places, as well as floating on the surface of the water. In order to avoid jumping the fish out of the water, it is recommended to cover the aquarium with a lid.

The ground is dark. Bright top lighting. The fish remarkably gets on with the peacefully similar fish of other species.

Loves light and weak circulation of water. The water change should be done weekly in the amount of not less than 20%. In one aquarium it is better to contain 5-10 fish of the Rainbow Hemigramopetters.

Spawning is usually planted on 1 male and 2-3 females, which are kept separately for about 2 weeks. Spawning aquarium with a length of 80 cm, the water level is 15 cm, at the bottom of the separator grid with bushes of small-leaved plants.

It is recommended to shade the aquarium and close the top.
Water parameters: temperature 24-26C, pH 6-6.5, hardness 2-4 dGH. The female throws up to 500 eggs.
After spawning, the fish are removed, the water level is reduced to 5 cm. The incubation period is 5-8 days, the fry swim in 1-1.5 days. Starter feed: ciliates, rotifers.
