Minor fish – ideal for a hara-zinc aquarium

Hello, friends! The aquarium fish minor is widespread in the northern and central parts of South America, in the Amazon River.

This aquarium fish loves slow flowing and stagnant ponds, as well as quite often found in forest streams and lakes.

Minor small enough fish, the size of which rarely exceeds 4 centimeters. The body of the fish is divided along a dark stripe.

From above the back is painted in an olive-brown shade with a weak greenish gleam. The abdomen and sides are bright red. The dorsal fin and gills are covered with small spots.

There is a white border at the end of the dorsal fin. Males are more brightly colored than females.

The color of the minors is weakly dependent on the conditions of detention.

The minor has a slim and tall body, slightly compressed at the sides. The distinguishing feature is the vertical quadrangular dorsal fin, which is sometimes more elongated than in other fish. On the back there is a wen.

The body of the fish at the tail fin is not covered with scales. Females have a more swollen and rounded abdomen.

Minor are considered peace-loving fish, preferring to stay in flocks. However, if there is none, then some minors may be aggressively disposed towards small fishes. When you keep a minor in the general aquarium, leave enough space for swimming and it is advisable to organize a dense planting of plants.

For these fish you need an aquarium of a small size, 30 liter jars will be enough. Basically, the fish prefers to stay in the middle or lower layer of water.

Minor can generally be attributed to unpretentious aquarium fish that do not need careful care. However, do not allow the deterioration of conditions of detention, as the fish can grow slower, lose all the beautiful color and tugging prepare for reproduction, and as a result, they can live less.

You may be caught by minors who will be aggressive towards their fellows and others. There are separate populations that often suffer from certain sores or be carriers of these diseases.

Minor is desirable to keep in an aquarium with a water temperature of 22-26 degrees. Also, fish withstand rare temperature drops.

Stiffness is desirable to keep within 4-8 degrees, and the active response of the medium is 6.8-7.0 pH. Be sure to buy a filter, but do not change the water often. Aquarium lighting make medium intensity, and aquarium soil looks better dark.

The best conditions for minors are considered to be tropical forest conditions. In natural conditions, the fish feed on small insects that fall into the water.

In aquarium conditions, you can feed bloodworms, small insects, enkhitreusami.

Minor spawning in pairs or groups. For spawning, the following parameters are considered favorable conditions: water temperature is 24-28 degrees, pH in the limit is 6.2-7.0 and hardness is not more than 14 degrees.

In the spawning tank, the volume of which you need to pick up no more than 10 liters, water is poured in and make a level of 15 centimeters, and a separator grid is placed on the bottom. On the grid put small-leaved plants with a long stem. Alternatively, you can use Thai fern.

The illumination of the aquarium should be made weak and diffuse, and the lamps should be covered so that direct light does not fall to the bottom of the aquarium. In spawning ground availability is not necessary.

A week before planting spawning, the latter are kept separately. Then in the evening they are placed in the spawn and in the morning or in a couple of days the female should already spawn.

Eggs stick to the leaves of the plants used or fall directly to the bottom. After completion of spawning, producers need to be deposited, and spawning is applied.

The incubation period for caviar is about two days, and I will be able to move independently through the aquarium fry a day in 4-5 days. Up to this point, they just stick out on glasses and plants. After the fry have turned into larvae, they take a horizontal position and begin to swim independently.

Small things are fed with rotifers, cyclop nauplii, ciliates or small nematodes. Gradually, it is desirable to teach the trifle to hard water and change it every two to three weeks.

In general, minors grow rapidly and reach puberty in the months of 8-10.
