Sex differences are weak. Labo in nature feed on fouling and microorganisms.
The labo’s mouth, which has a sucker with horny plates, allows them to scrape off fouling from stones and clutches. In the aquarium with a great hunt take any live, dry and vegetable food.
They love aquariums, densely planted with plants, with a lot of kryagy and shelters. Constantly hostile to each other because of the territory, but do not cause damage to each other. However, the smallest of fish is constantly depressed and begins to lag significantly in growth.
Labo is also aggressive to any species of fish with red tail, but with the rest of the fish live peacefully. Although Labo prefers moderate lighting, it is advisable to maintain high illumination in the aquarium.
This contributes to the intensive fouling of the walls AND shelters with algae, which are food for fish. Water for content: GH up to 20 °; pH of about 7.0; t 22-24 ° C.
Labo does not tolerate sour water, at pH less than 6.0, the fish die. Dilution of Labeo green is possible by the method of pituitary injections. Breeding water: GH up to 8.0 °; pH 7.0; t 25-27 ° C.
Carbonate stiffness is minimal. Looking for spawning 100 liters or more, sprayer for 2 or more points, filtering, be sure to create a flow.
In spawning set several shelters and bushes of plants. the caviar is non-sticky, swells up strongly and floats freely. During spawning, the producers actively eat the eggs that have fallen to the bottom, and usually do not touch the floating ones. After spawning, the water is heavily polluted, and it must be replaced or filtered through activated carbon.
Larvae appear after 2 days and after 5 days turn into fry. Starter feed – rotifers, cyclops nauplii.
