Content and breeding of goldfish in tails in the aquarium

Of all the representatives of the family of goldfish, voilehtails are the most successful with aquarists. They are often found in pet stores and markets.

The popularity of the voyalehosty deserved thanks to its beauty and unpretentiousness. This is one of the oldest species of artificially selected fish.

Their homeland is China, where the tail fish have been bred about 1500 years ago for keeping notable people in garden ponds.

A distinctive feature of fish is a magnificent tail. According to its form, voilehvostov divided into two types: classic (skirt) and tape.

In the first variety, both tail blades are the same size, which is why the tail looks like a strict skirt. In the second type, it consists not of two, but of three or four blades.

The tails of such fish fall long and lush veil. The larger the blades, the more valuable the voiletail.

Veiltail aquarium fish are also valued for their coloring. There are single-colored and multi-colored species.

The most common plain colors are red and gold. Black veiltails are most appreciated.

Also found are pink, white, bronze, fire-red and black-blue species. Many multicolored species with different color combinations were developed.

The most common are two- or three-colored fish: white-pink, white with orange fins, etc. A very rare species is a red tail with blue eyes.

The form of the body in all species is the same – round., slightly elongated and compressed laterally. In tape veils, the body is slightly longer than the skirt.

The dorsal fin is long, often its size is of the body length. The outline of the head smoothly passes into the body.

Because of this feature, the fish are distinguished by a certain slowness, and when feeding in an aquarium they do not always keep up with their more nimble neighbors.

Females practically do not differ from males. Differences appear only during spawning, when females rounded the lower part of the body, and males on gills and fins appear white spots.

For the maintenance of goldfish voilehvosta need at least 50 liters of water. Although you can often see the image of fish in a round aquarium, this method of keeping does not suit them. The round shape of the tank leads to a deterioration in the vision of the fish, its growth slows down.

For a comfortable upkeep, a veiltail needs an aquarium with straight walls and natural light.

Vualehvosty quite unpretentious. The peculiarity of the fish is that they love to dig in the ground, so it is better to place sand or small pebbles on the bottom of the aquarium.

Goldfish love cool water. In the summer, they can live outside in an artificial pond. The optimal water parameters for them are as follows:

  • summer temperature from +18 ° C to +23 ° C, in winter – from +15 ° C to +18 ° C;
  • water hardness – from 8 to 15 gH;
  • acidity – from 7.0 to 8.0 pH.

The fish reacts positively to a small amount of salt in the water. If you feel unwell, this product can be added to the aquarium in the amount of 5-7 g / l. Water needs to be changed regularly.

Since the fish often digs the ground, filters are necessary in the aquarium. Algae must have a strong root system.

Goldfish are unpretentious in food and have a good appetite. They can easily overeat, after which they become ill and die.

They are better underfed than overfeed. Vualehvostam feed 2 times a day – in the morning and evening. Portions should be such that the fish have time to eat all the food in 5 minutes.

Leftovers must be removed from the aquarium. Once a week, the day off tails are satisfied with the fasting day.

Fish require animal and vegetable food. Dry food should be given with caution, as it has a small volume, and the fish can eat it too much.

Food swells in her intestines and causes constipation and obstruction, which can lead to illness and death.

Before you give the fish dry food, it must be soaked for some time. Granules are soaked in water for 20-30 seconds, flakes – for 10 seconds. In comfortable conditions and with proper nutrition, veiltails can live up to 20 years and grow to 25 cm.

At home, it is easy to breed voilehvostov, but you need to take into account some of their features. The following rules of content exist:

  1. Good and comfortable fish will feel only in the spacious aquariums. There they will not be sick and will live long.
  2. Vualehvosty – real beggars. They will beg for food, even when not hungry. But the fish can not be overfed, otherwise they will quickly die. Their diet should be balanced and varied. You can use ready-made feed for goldfish. It is better if the veil tails take food from the bottom. Grabbing food from the surface, they can swallow a lot of air. After that, the fish swell strongly or fall on their sides. These individuals need 1-2 days not to feed.
  3. Veilhvostov difficult to maintain along with the plants – the fish love to pluck them. They even eat hard-leaved algae, such as anubias.
  4. Aquarium fish voiletail is prone to change color. Spots of different colors may appear on her torso. If the conditions of detention are normal, then do not be afraid – this is a normal age phenomenon.
  5. If a lot of nitrites and nitrates accumulate in the aquarium, ammonia burns may appear on the body of the fish. In this case, urgently need to take action: to replace the water in the aquarium, install plant filters, use drugs that adjust the biological balance. If the volume of the aquarium does not meet the norm, then you need to change it to a larger tank.
  6. Sometimes voilehvosta long lie at the bottom. If the fish are active, eat well and do not get sick, then do not be afraid – they just like to relax like that.
  7. Fish prefer cool water, but they also feel good at temperatures above +20 ° C. The main thing in temperature is stability.
