Botsiya aquarium fish aquarium: photos, keeping and feeding, breeding and breeding

Botsiya marble (family loachworm). Active at dusk, the day is often holed up in shelters.

Very aggressive. Makes clicking sounds. Keep in a specific or volumetric aquarium with large species and soft soil.

The natural habitat of marble fighting from Pakistan to Bangladesh. Often in pet stores on the price tags with this fish you can read: catfish. From the point of view of taxonomy, this is a blunder, fish, although outwardly they look like catfish, and lead almost the same way of life – they are all the same to a different detachment.

Marble combat, in contrast to other Loopworms, is often active during the day, which is a big plus. Fish, though modestly colored, but very attractive. Medium view, size 6-8 cm, peaceful.

In the aquarium, it is a useful inhabitant, it, like soma, eats from the bottom, which means it eats what others have left, and there will be less cleansing. Bions are voracious, especially in youth, when the fish are full, their abdomens are noticeably getting fat.

They eat almost any food, it is an omnivorous fish. Preference is given to various benthic invertebrate organisms, to a small extent they eat vegetation. When underfeeding can eat the young leaves of plants, as a top dressing you can offer flakes of hercules.

The conditions of the fish are undemanding, but constant aeration and filtration are required, the temperature is 20-28C. Loaches do not like salted water, as well as some medications.

When treating fish in an aquarium with battles, copper sulfate, malachite or brilliant green should be abandoned, as well as the use of furan preparations and formalin carefully. The soil in the aquarium with fish is required. The scales of the fish do not have, because of what stands out a large amount of mucus, which they wash on the soil fraction.

In addition, at the bottom of the fish, the fish do not feel comfortable. Like other loachworms, the fighting is considered “living barometers”. They unmistakably feel the change in pressure, and the rain that follows.

Fish activity increases, they rush and rush around the aquarium, spontaneous spawning often happens; although, usually, fish are bred with hormonal stimulation. Naturally, the fish do not predict the approaching bad weather.

Water streams after the rain are washed away into the reservoirs except branches and dust and various small animals: insects, worms, etc., and this can be enjoyed. In addition, you can get ahead of fish spawning after rain, and use the same space, but at different times. Be careful when transplanting batons, they can get entangled in the net by the powerful rays of the pectoral fins, painful shots on these rays. There is another weapon in the loach – spines under the eyes, moving out like a penknife, but using its fish only for defense. The loach has a very beautiful spawning ground.

The fish are fished in pairs or groups, the males pick up the female by the pectoral fin under the abdomen (behind the gill cover) and so rise to the surface of the water, where the eggs spawn out. And so time after time, until all the caviar will not be swept. Fish are very fertile, especially if you consider the size, spawning from 3 to 5 thousand eggs for spawning.

Caviar is small grayish-green, but swells up to 2 mm, the incubation period is 16-18 hours at a temperature of 28 ° C. Care of the offspring parents do not show.

As long as the fish spawn, they will not eat caviar, but individuals not participating in the spawning, or at the end of the spawning period, the caviar can be eaten. The photo of the marble battle can be seen on the right.

At planned breeding, a separator net is placed at the bottom of the spawning tank, manufacturers are kept apart from males from females, and gonadotropic injections are used. Fry feeds easily because they eat even dry feed available in size.

By the age of one month, fish can reach a size of 1-1.5 cm. The color of fry differs from that of an adult.

At first, the fry of the marble battle are striped, and as they grow, they acquire a net color.

You can buy a marble battle in a specialized nursery. The price of the fry marble can be found on the bulletin board.

Pictures and photos of marble fights can be found in the species and breeds section.
