Arovana fish: a giant inhabitant of the Amazon in an aquarium

Dear colleagues! Supporters of the Feng Shui movement believe that the most powerful energy source is a symbol of wealth is water. And if, for example, you got yourself an aquarium, which is also a symbol of wealth, put it in a place where your wealth is concentrated, and then launched into it fish – then it is generally gorgeous.

Only fish need to get not only what, but those that bring wealth. One of these “golden” fish is considered to be Arovana.

The indigenous people of Asia blindly believe in such signs, as in the territory of Southeast Asia you can hardly find an office in which there would be no aquarium. Very often in these aquariums you can see Avanoux, which, according to Feng Shui, is considered the strongest fish with powerful positive energy.

This fish brings luck, peace and harmony, wealth and prosperity to the host. However, the issue price only bites much.

There have been cases when adult copies were sold for tens of thousands of American presidents. And I am talking about the usual Arvana, not about the Asian red Arovana, which is considered the most expensive treat among many species of fish.

Red Arovana is an endangered species, so the Asian government strictly controls their population and allows only small quantities of it to be caught. As soon as the red Arovana has reached adolescence, it is implanted with a special chip passport, which contains all the necessary information about the individual. The chip contains information about the place of birth of the fish and the name and pedigree of the razvodchika.

Based on this, it is mandatory for the owner of such a fish to have a special certificate with him.

From Hong Kong, Malaysia, Thailand and Indonesia, it is considered very prestigious to keep red arovanas in the aquarium, which speaks better than any words about how far the owner of the fish was in financial terms. You can say thanks to the art of feng shui, which contributed to the spread of this fish in the territory of the CIS countries.

However, not all “cash” aquarium fish are as expensive as the red arovan. You can find instances much easier.

Although they are not so rare and expensive, and they do not require special documentation on themselves, these things in no way affect their merits. The most affordable option is the South American silver Arovana.

It has an excellent plasticity, which resembles a snake, and the movements of fish in the water are so slow and graceful that you do not cease to be touched. I’m probably shocking you now, but Arovana is considered an unpretentious aquarium fish. The only thing that must be taken into account here is that the fish needs a sufficiently spacious aquarium, preferably 200 liters or more.

If you place Arvanova in an aquarium with a smaller volume, although it should be less within reasonable limits, you can also keep a fish in such a jar, but you will have much less of your adult relatives living in nature or in a spacious jar. Arovana should be kept in an aquarium with a water temperature of 24-28 degrees Celsius and do not forget to replace ¼ of water with fresh water once a week.

Since this fish is a predator, you can feed it dry food, better give a cricket, a butterfly or a frog. The most favorite delicacy of Arwan is shrimps.

Since the fish in nature is kept in the upper layers of water, the depth of the aquarium is not very important for it, unlike its area. Since the fish lover to jump for food, be sure to cover the aquarium with a cover glass.

In an unguarded aquarium with cover glass, such a jump can end sadly for a fish. Almost all large non-aggressive fish can get along with arvanova.

But those who fit in her mouth without any problems will definitely be eaten in the future, it is only a matter of time. But I do not advise keeping a couple of individuals in the same aquarium, since they will fight 100,500% among themselves and spoil their feathers.

Scientists believe that this fish has some rudiments of intelligence. For example, Arovana easily recognizes his master and someone else.

When a stranger approaches the aquarium, the fish immediately starts to get nervous and tossing around the aquarium. But from the hands of the owner, she will take food without any problems.

Keeping arvanov in your home aquarium is just fun. If the conditions of detention are correct and the feeding is good, then in half a year it will grow up to 20-30 centimeters in length.

Surprisingly, this “lucky” fish is considered a long-liver. There were cases when some individuals lived up to 50 years, although in aquarium conditions she did not live for more than 10 years, which is not too sour!

When you start an arvanova, you will not only get yourself an aquarium fish, you will get an interesting pet with its whims, character and habits. Or maybe success and luck will smile at you!
