Aquarium fish Vealehvost: photos, keeping and feeding, breeding and breeding

Veilstail (Carassius auratus veiltail) – One of the most common goldfish that adorn many aquariums. The oval tail has an ovoid-shaped body, a rather large head with large eyes. Interestingly, among these fish you can find not only fish with golden scales, but also completely scaleless individuals.

The color of representatives of this species varies from golden hue to rich black or red, there are also spotted forms, the body and fins of which are painted in different shades.

Anal and tail fins long enough. The tail consists of several accreted fins, which resemble a veil very much – they also hang softly and beautifully. There are individuals whose tail size is several times larger than the size of the body.

The length of the body of fish can exceed 20 centimeters.

Vualekhvosty – peace-loving fish, in addition, such a lush decoration at the same time is a vulnerable place, so to keep them with predatory or fast fish is not recommended. The best option is a species aquarium, spacious (from 70 liters), with large-leaved plants and sandy soil. These fish are not indifferent to the natural light, very sensitive to the level of oxygen. pH can vary from 6 to 8, hardness – up to 20.

Weekly change a quarter of the water, you need to feed the goldfish well, but do not overfeed. It would be nice to arrange a fasting day for them once a week.

Veiltails can consume not only live and dry food, but also plants – pre-scalded nettle leaves and lettuce.

The female voilehvosta throws eggs, males fertilize them, after which they are deposited. Fry that will appear in 3-5 days can be fed with rotifers, artemia, infusoria and other living dust.
