Aquarium fish thorns – how to care for her in an aquarium

Hello dear aquarists! Today we will discuss the fish ternitii.

It is very regrettable that today aquaria is switching to the maintenance of steep aquarium fish, and the good old characters are pushed into the background. It was precisely the termination that was forgotten by aquarists because of the increasingly popular cichlids and other Labuda.

Let’s remember with you what kind of fish it is.

Whatever one may say, but the termination cannot compete with bright fish because of its poor color: dark gray with a silver tint. However, against the backdrop of lush green vegetation, a flock of 5-6 pieces will look just great. This representative of the characters was for some time one of the most popular fish among aquarists amateur.

I kept this fish in my tank for a very long time, and you know, nostalgia for it scored me and I wanted to buy a flock again. It remains only to wait for the end of the war around Slavyansk and you can do it.

But let’s still return to our ternii.

The body of the fish is flattened on the sides, which gives it a look of sophistication and some grace. She failed in size, the maximum that you can squeeze out of it – 4-5 centimeters. Like the Kharazinki kin, the red neons, the crescent is a schooling and peace-loving fish that prefers to swim in a flock around the aquarium rather than drive its neighbors around the bank.

When planning an aquarium do not forget to leave room for swimming, preferably in the middle layers of the aquarium.

When the content of ternation in aquariums of small volume, get ready for the fact that the fish will hide in dense vegetation and will be visible only during the feeding. It turns out that the fish in fact can be compared with a capricious woman in a black skirt. I would like to mention one unique feature of this aquarium fish: it is called indicator fish.

The fact is that when changing the chemical components in the aquarium water, the terns catch all these moments and change their color. The fish can be almost transparent and velvety black.

The main reasons for such transformations can be stress, fear, changes in water quality and its temperature. The fish will take on its insodny color only if the situation in the aquarium normalizes.

The most favorable conditions for keeping a termination in a home aquarium are as follows: for a flock of 7-8 individuals, at least 80 liters in volume is needed, lay the soil in the form of coarse river sand at the bottom and the bank itself should be densely planted with vegetation. An ideal option would be ambulia, elodiea, cabomba, and so on.

Plants should be planted so that they do not reach the surface of the water. In the article on how to care for aquarium plants, I have already told you how to prune plants, therefore I advise you to familiarize yourself with the material.

Thornsion can be counted among those aquarium fish that love to diarize in warm and well-lit water. The temperature of the water in the aquarium should be in the range of 22-26 degrees, the active reaction of the medium is 6-8 and the rigidity is not more than 20.

Since ternation prefers oxygen-rich water, you cannot do without forced aeration of the aquarium. Be sure to regularly change the water in the aquarium once or twice a week for fresh, previously defended.

For safety, it is better to stretch this process for several days and add water in small doses.

As neighbors to ternations, guppeshek, swordtails, or mollies can be hooked. If you wish, yes, and I actually recommend to you that you need to buy ancistrus or girinoheuous.

These fish will keep your bank clean.

That’s probably all for today. See you soon, dear colleagues!
