Aquarium fish botsiya

The aquarium small fish botsia has 25-30 species and belongs to the family of wines. Natural habitats are bodies of water in Southeast Asia. The form of the body of a botsi fish is very peculiar, all species have a triangular cross-section of the head, pointed at the end.

On the flat belly in the area of the pectoral fins, there are suckers, with the help of which the fish attach themselves to the bark and stones, scraping off from them the algal bloom and other vegetation. In aquariums, botsie fish usually do not grow more than 12 centimeters, although in nature these species are large, often up to 30 centimeters in length. Around the mouth of the fish are small tendrils of 6-8 pieces.

Under the eyes there are thorns, which are normally hidden, but at the moment of danger they abruptly come out with a loud click.

The content of fighting in the aquarium.
Most of the beats are nocturnal, but if there are no aggressive species of fish in the aquarium, they do not hide in the daytime either. Love to swim in the lower layers of water.

It is best to keep fighting in flocks of 5 or more individuals, and when kept alone, the fish become aggressive to the rest of the inhabitants of the aquarium. In the aquarium should be a refuge for fish and various grottoes, moderate lighting. Strongly bright lighting and the absence of shelters causes great stress in fish.

Sometimes these fish can lie on your back or side, this behavior is normal and you should not panic on this occasion.

Recommended water parameters for the maintenance of botsy:
– Temperature 24-30 degrees
– pH 6-8
– rigidity is 5-15 degrees
– weekly water changes, coupled with mechanical filtration and aeration.

As can be seen from the parameters of the bots, quite unpretentious fish that can adapt to any aquarium with different parameters of water. They do not touch the vegetation, but in many sources it is advised to plant plants with a strong root system so that the fish could not damage it.

Fighting grows slowly enough, but live up to 8 years. When keeping and treating, consider the susceptibility of these fish to copper sulfate, formalin, brilliant green and malachite green.

If it is possible to do without these substances in the aquarium, then never use them.

Feeding fish fights.
As a rule, these fish are unpretentious in terms of food, on the contrary, they have a restless appetite, can eat food debris from the bottom, not eaten by other inhabitants of the aquarium, in the case of a hunger strike will eat young leaves of plants. We are happy to eat live, frozen and dry food. Can even eat vegetable feed, such as spinach, cucumbers and lettuce.

Boths are omnivores and never go hungry, so they are prone to obesity.

The most common types of bots are:

Botsiya clown is a very popular type and rather large, with a good content it grows in length up to 14-16 centimeters.

Marble combat is one of the most mobile fish, leading not only nightlife, but also daily life. This fish appears more often on sight than other species, as it is less shy.

It grows in length up to 10-11 centimeters.

Bengal botsiya beautiful striped fish in size up to 8 centimeters.

The chess chess is very beautiful, grows in captivity up to 10 centimeters.

Botsiya Burmese, in aquariums grows up to 11 centimeters.

Botsiya-zebra, a fairly small representative among other fighters, grows in the aquarium no more than 7 centimeters.

Sex differences in young botsy are not pronounced, only in the period of spawning the female’s abdomen becomes quite large. In aquariums, breeding fights is a big problem, because in nature, these fish spawn, migrating upstream and laying eggs in coastal zones.

It is impossible to recreate such conditions in an aquarium, therefore, they use hormones to induce spawning.

Spawning tank aquarium should be large, about 250 liters with a large amount of substrate at the bottom, to protect the calf from eating by parents. The water should be soft and clean, acidic pH 5-6, the temperature is 5 degrees higher than in the general aquarium.

The incubation period for caviar caviar ranges from 16 to 48 hours.
